A 3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Detached House In A Quiet Village With Wonderful Views

'Mountain view' is an old detached farmhouse located in a little village of Nomenj. The picturesque village is located between two alpine lakes (lake Bled and lake Bohinj) and two mountain plateaus (Jelovica and Pokljukaj. The village is accessed from the main road between lake Bled and Lake Bohinj. In the summer time you can swim and enjoy the clear, clean waters of lake Bohinj. The river Sava gives a perfect chance for rafting, canoeing and fishing, There are also many rivulets and waterfalls in the nearby area.

Wonderful nature can be found in the Triglav National Park and its surroundings which gives many opportunities for hiking at all levels and mountain climbing.

In the winter time snow gives many opportunities for winter sports. The ski centres Vogel, Soriška planina and Poklujka are all nearby. All resorts are ideal for families.

The house has been upgraded to provide all the comforts you require to enjoy your holiday.

The front door is still the old traditional farmhouse door! This opens to a large entrance area so plenty of space for shoes,boots and coats! The ground floor has a large lounge area with 2 three seater couches. One of these can be used as a sleeper couch to accommodate an extra 2 guests. There is a plasma television with a selection of programmes and wifi.

Off of the lounge is a large twin bedroom.The kitchen is spacious and fully fitted with a hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave and a table and seating area for 8 people. From the kitchen is a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge and freezer.

There is a bathroom on this level with a bath and shower above it, basin and toilet. There is also a further separate toilet.

The old wooden staircase takes you to the upper level where a further bathroom can be found. This has a large shower, hand basin and toilet. There is a large double bedroom with a king size bed and storage. The second double bedroom has a standard double bed and also storage.

'Mountain view' has an unique outdoor area - it can be enjoyed all year round and in any weather condition!

On the first floor is a covered large outdoor area with an area for the children to chill. The grown ups can enjoy a glass of wine whilst taking in the lovely views. There is a table and benches to enjoy meals here and a gas barbeque. The owners have placed a lot of the old furniture and items that were in the house out here to keep some of the history alive!

The owners "The Bacon family" are a young British family living in a small community near Milton Keynes in the heart of England. Andy has this to tell you about themselves: My wife and I are both directors of our own small businesses, in the marketing and health and fitness sectors. Our children are 7 and 9 and love travelling and going on 'family adventures'.

Why Jackie Moolman - Property Manageress chose Gorjuše

We first travelled to Slovenia in 2006 when Emma was heavily pregnant with our first child, Joshua. Within a day of arriving in Slovenia we knew we wanted to buy a house there and searched in many different areas, including the coast, Ljubljana, and all around the Julian Alps. We settled on this property in Nomenj, as it was a beautiful traditional house with so much potential and history. It was conveniently located for the airport (only 40 minutes away), Bohinj and Bled lakes (both around 10 minutes drive) and plenty of skiing (as close as 5 minutes from the house, with Vogel mountain, the largest skiing resort, only 15 minutes drive away)... Not to mention waterfalls, caves, mountains, hiking, rivers, castles and all manner of tourist delights Slovenia has to offer all within easy driving distances.

The house needed to be completely renovated:- central heating, plumbing, electrics, kitchen, insulation, drainage, new windows and decorating. It has been a huge task, but the end result is well worth it:- a beautiful house with lots of space, character and still more potential for the future! We love Slovenia and we love this traditional Slovenian farm house. We hope you will like it too.

What makes this house unique

The huge covered terrace/balcony offers a year round 'outdoor' space that can be used in any weather. It's perfect for BBQs, evening drinks and entertaining. It is al fresco living at its best! Turn the main balcony lights off and snuggle in warm blankets (with a nice drink) to appreciate the delicate fairy lights around the edge of the terrace and the moonlit views of the fields and distant mountains. The peace and quiet of this small village is wonderful.

With two neighbouring bedrooms on the first floor and a downstairs bedroom neighbouring the large lounge (with a sofa bed), the house is perfectly set up for a large family, or two families sharing. There is a bathroom downstairs and shower room upstairs which further support this. All rooms are generous, comfortable and homely.

Rural village experience near beautiful Slovenian Lakes.

We had a really good experience here. The farmhouse was spacious and comfortable, and located close to a variety of local attractions. Jackie dealt with our broken microwave quickly. We would recommend this property for people visiting the area.

New year’s eve 2017-2018

We were a group of 7 searching for a place to spend the new year’s eve togehter without sharing the house with somebody else.

It was just perfect, upon our arrival the house was all prepared for us , hot and clean, even if we did not meet the owner.The house is very spacious and welcoming. Hot water all the time, heating was working at the best. We also went for snowboarding at Vogel Ski Resort wich was just amazing, we were lucky with the snow and very sunny days. The house is very close to Vogel and also Bled and by car is just a pleasure to drive. Markets were all near us in Bohinjska Bistrica and Bled.The top floor area with barbeque is just amazing we were doing barbeque even if it was in winter time, with some hot wine is just a pleasure.

The only negative point was the small room on the 0 floor because in the pictures the beds seem to be able to stick them togehter wich was not possible when we arrived so 1 couple had to sleep in 2 beds separetly.

For us the house was just perfect for a winter citybreak! We all recomand it and would come back again when possible!

Great stay

We stayed at this property for a week in August 2017 and had a fabulous time. The house is very comfortable. The owner has preserved many of the original farmhouse features -- such as the 250 year old front door and key -- while updating with modern comforts. The bathrooms are state of the art, the kitchen is simple but brand new and convenient, the beds are comfortable. The house is very clean and welcoming. We especially appreciated breakfast on the balcony, with a verdant view of the surrounding fields and mountains. It helped that the weather was picture perfect, with crisp sunny days, each day.

Nomenj is a picturesque, small village. Go for a stroll, and you will find chickens and goats living harmoniously with their owners, and beautiful vegetable gardens all around. Families with young children (we were two adult couples, no kids) would also appreciate this house. I noticed the balcony was equipped with a sandbox for young children to play with.

The house is ideally located, about 45 minutes from the Lujbljana airport, and within close proximity of both Lake Bled (10 minutes) and Lake Bohinj. While Lake Bled is a must, with its beautiful Bled Castle on a cliff towering over the lake, Lake Bohinj is the lake I would want to go back to. It has a beautiful public access beach circling the lake, and families come for the day and stake out their little piece of paradise.

Slovenia is a wonderful country to visit. Renting a car allows for day trips from the house to the surrounding county side, with its beautiful traditional villages and medieval towns. There are many hiking and biking opportunities. We never made is to see the Lipizzaner stallions or the caves, but those would be accessible at about an hour and a half away. It was refreshing not to see any McDonald's in the area. A five minute walk from the house, there is a roadside restaurant with fresh grilled fish and a decent cappuccino.

You can also easily reach Lubjljana (for an amazing world class meal, make a reservation at the Strelec at the Lubjljana castle). But the Julian Alps, and Mount Triglav, are the kind of setting I find most memorable. Overall, a great stay and wonderful vacation. I am still basking in the afterglow.

Amazing house, wonderful environment

We´ve been a group of 8 people and one little one and enjoyed the stay at Mountain View very much!

The description of the house was very accurate and the house is very well equipped with everything you need to feel at home (from additional blankets to kitchen utensils). The house is very well maintained and furnished with taste.

The contact with Jackie, Alison and Petra was very uncomplicated and they´re eager to make sure that everything is ok. Thanks very much for that!

The house itself is located in a little village and very quite surroundings. The view from the balcony is amazing! The train station and bus station is only a 10min walk away and gets you to the next cities. At the train station there´s also a restaurant with very kind owners who serve tasty food (mainly fish). Another 15min walk away there´s a river in which you can swim with the fishes (at least if you don´t mind cold water :) ) and a beautiful waterfall.

We definitely recommend staying at Mountain View (the roofed balcony is a gem!) and disovering the beautiful nature there.

Very confortable house fully equiped in a beautil

I spent two weeks with my family and we had a really good time swimming in Bohinj lake, visiting Liubliana, Postojna caves, Velika Planina, Logarska dolina...

The house is very nice and the top floor with a big terrace is a good place for relax.

Slovenia has been a surprising country. See you next time!!

Fabulous house and location

Comfortable, homely, traditional farmhouse with great views and a fantastic location. Located in a small village, it's a few minutes drive from the nearest towns, but for us that was perfect. We wanted a relaxed family vacation with lots of out door living and walking. This property offered a great base with easy access to the lakes, mountains, waterfalls and all the outdoor space we could desire. And still only 10 or 15 minutes from Bled. Great house, great location. We will be returning.

Nomenj is a small village set of the main road halfway between lake Bohinj and Lake Bled. This is a traditional Slovenian village with wonderful countryside surrounding it and views of the mountains.

There is a small local gostilina on the main road but many more traditional restaurants within 15 minutes drive. Bohinjska Bistrica which is 6km away has all you need for buying your supplies, doctors, pharmacy, water park, indoor bowling, butcher, post office, coffee shops ....

There are wonderful walks nearby and the two beautiful lakes. Lots of outdoor activities to be experienced all within the proximity of the village.
