Completely remodeled 1 bedroom/1 bath within a stone's throw to the Pacific Ocean! When you enter the unit you will be taken back by the breath-taking unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean. Open the patio door and immediately feel the ocean breeze from the trade winds and smell the fresh salt-water air! The next morning you will awaken to the warm glow of sunrise. You can sit on the lanai with your first cup of coffee and enjoy the boat traffic from the river right next to the building. You are also located right on the walking/bike path called Ke Ala Hele Makalae ('the path that goes by the coast') that will eventually go from Nawiliwili to Anahola. During season you will see whales breaching from your lanai. You now know what paradise feels like.

You will find your condo A306 on the top floor in the Beautiful Pono Kai Resort with 12 acres of meticulously manicured grounds in addition to koi ponds and amenities listed below. It is in the historic town of Kapaa, centrally located on the East Side of Kauai, it is convenient to all of the Garden Isle attractions, only 15 minutes from Lihue Airport and walking distance from many restaurants, grocery, and fun shops and stores.

The condo is on the 3rd floor, within steps of the elevator. Being on the top floor, it’s private, there is no over-head noise ... just the sound of the gentle sound of the ocean surf. FREE Wi-Fi interenet service is provided. It features a washer/dryer in the unit, which is an unusual feature on-site. Freshly remodeled with all new, kitchen cabinets, stone counter-tops, kitchen dishes/ pots & pans/utensils/ linens and more, you will not need to worry about running out and buying that essential item to cook with. You will rest at ease with a hotel bed concept where all linens are laundered between guests! Enjoy your first pot of complimentary coffee, and if you plan on cooking spices are available. Many more amenities you will not find in other condos!

The resort itself provides free parking and the parking for the 'A' building is right out front. For your convenience the front desk is open 24 hrs and there is an activities desk in the lobby so you can arrange your island adventures.

This a very centrally located resort, you will arrive at your sightseeing destination within 45 minutes of car travel, excluding Waimea canyon and the west side which takes about 1 hour 15 mins. Pono Kai is a well maintained and respected resort condo complex with years of operating experience. It is located right in the heart of charming Kapaa town, with restaurants and shopping within one block. I live here year round and I also live in Kapaa. Kapaa is a real local town with very friendly residents and with more of a laid back feeling than other areas of the Island.

We loved Pono Kai A306!

My wife and I recently stayed in Susan's condo for a much-needed vacation away from everything. The location of the condo is amazing! On the water with an unobstructed view of the sunrise. Inside the place is well appointed with just about everything you need except your food. We will definitely be returning some day. Mahalo Susan for taking such great care of us!

Convenient and comfort with a view

We stayed 7 nights in this unit and felt right at home. We had everything we needed and loved having the washer/dryer in the unit. The trade winds make it very comfortable blowing through the patio doors. We were impressed with this condo and hope to stay here again. Thank you Susan for providing such a nice place at a reasonable price on Kauai.

Excellent unit

This one bedroom unit had everything we needed. Washer and dryer in bath, spices in cupboard, a/c unit in bedroom, wonderful view with cooling trade winds. Utensils were plentiful and of a great variety. Beach boards, beach towels, chairs and umbrellas were a welcome surprise. I have stayed in many units at Pono Kai and this was one of the most comfortable. I had an operator issue with the safe and called Susan who answered immediately and was very helpful. Luckily in the end I got the right combo and didn't have to bother her to come over. Nice to have safe in the room but Pono Kai has a great staff and being on the 3rd floor there is nothing to be concerned about. The elevator is very near and convenient but did not hear it running at all. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Susan.

Exceeded our expectations!

Susan's condo was even better than the description and pictures! We absolutely loved sitting on the deck having our morning coffee and watching the sunrise. Although we enjoyed eating out at all of the local restaurants, the condo had everything available you would need to make great meals there. We used the walking path out front almost everyday for our daily runs. We hope to be back in the not so distant future. Thank you Susan!!

Pono Kai - A308

I don't where to start. This condo was absolutely gorgeous. Nicely decorated and Susan the owner was very accommodating. If you are looking for a great place to stay, this is it. Watch the sunrise from your lanai or go for a morning walk/run along the bike/walking path and watch the sunrise along the way. THIS IS AN OCEANFRONT condo and so worth it.

FYI, there is no air conditioning in the living room but you really don't need one as the trade winds are enough to keep you comfortable. I don't know what it would be like in the summer months. Our visit was in March. The bedroom did have air conditioning and truth be told, this is really the room that needs it as the afternoon sun hits this room and Susan was on top of that as she place the air conditioned in this room.

Heads-up though, when using the washer/dryer the location of it causes the room to get very humid. You'll need to run the fan while the dryer is running.

The "FYI" and "heads-up" to me are not deal breakers as this unit is really nice and so worth it.

We would rent this place again!!!!!!! If you chose this unit, we hope you will enjoy it as much as we did.

Lovely condo, lovely resort, lovely location

We just returned from 3 weeks in Susan's lovely and comfortable condo. The location and view are just as you see in the picture. We have rented accommodation in many places and never had one with so many amenities. Susan really has thought of everything and this makes life so much easier when staying away from home. Apart from an extremely well equipped kitchen, and bathroom with washer and dryer, there are board games, puzzles, books and beach toys and beach gear. And sunscreen, medical kit and on and on! We have stayed in Pono Kai before and loved it just as much as our last time. There's a lovely pool and hot tub, koi pond and beautiful grounds, and outdoor games, shuffleboard, croquet, bocce ball, putting greens,ping pong and tennis. And the condo is situated right on the Kauai Path, great for walking and biking, and on a swimmable beach. Lots of stores and eating places within walking distance and the big food stores are handy. We highly recommend this condo!

Heart of old Kapaa town is within walking distance to shops, restaurants, farmer's market on Wednesday, art walks, craft fairs and local festivals monthly. 4 large grocery stores are within 1 mile of the area.
