Fabulous large Victorian double upper apartment located in the heart of the Newington, whose parks / cafes / bars and shops make it our favourite district of Edinburgh. The large cosy property is ideally placed to enjoy the best of Edinburgh's festival and fringe attractions with the minimum of hassle. Many of the main venues / attractions are a stone's throw from the flat, and others, like the castle, Royal Mile and the main shopping areas are easily reached on foot in less than 20 minutes or around 10 minutes by using the frequent bus service which stops outside the door and takes you directly into the heart of the central shopping area.The apartment was redecorated in 2013 and 2014, and although it has been tastefully modernized it retains many attractive period features, such as original fireplaces, working shutters, ornamental balconies and decorative cornicing. It is a perfect for larger families / groups who are looking for a base from which to explore the city.The accommodation comprises, on the lower floor: An impressive reception hall with a spiral staircase to the upper level and access to all the lower floor accommodation.A stunning open plan lounge with large 3/4 length shuttered windows which make this room elegant and bright. The room contains an unbelievably comfortable corner sofa, a large television, DVD player (with a large collection of DVD's) and provides ample space for larger parties to chill.A spacious open plan kitchen / dining room which includes a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer.Four double bedrooms, all with original sash and case windows, three with working shutters and the other, an en-suite bathroom.On the upper floor:Two loft style double bedrooms, both with double beds and views over the rooftops to Arthur's Seat.A large bathroom with large freestanding bath.

Lovely, well equipped apartment in easy walking distance of Arthurs's Seat, the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. The apartment was easily large enough to accommodate our group of 12. We had a fantastic stay - thank you!

Amazing stay in Edinburgh

We had a wonderful time in Edinburgh, the apartment was amazing, in a very good location and more than lived up to the pictures. It was so spacious, the bedrooms were lovely with extremely comfortable beds. The kitchen was very well equipped, and dining and lounge area were very good. There were convenience stores, bars and restaurants literally within a couple of minutes walk. The only slight downside was that four of the six bedrooms were within hearing distance of a busy road so traffic noise was a slight problem, but I would certainly stay there again and recommend it to friends. You could see Arthur's Seat from a couple of the bedroom windows and it is just a fifteen minute walk from the apartment.

Estupenda casa y buenísima situación

Éramos tres familias con niños entre 8 y 16 años. La situación de la casa es muy buena, con todo tipo de comercios, bares y restaurantes y lo más importante es que la distancia al centro es muy corta, pero si quieres ir en autobús, hay muchos que paran al lado de la casa. Judy (la dueña) fue muy amable aunque solo nos comunicamos por correo electrónico, y Karen nos entregó las llaves y nos proporcionó toda la información necesaria, una persona muy agradable. La casa es cómoda y amplia. Nos ha encantado Edimbugo y es probable que repitamos.
