It was built in 1750 designed by John Carr for the workers on the Harewood Estate. It is a very quaint cottage surrounded by similar properties and has enviable views across the Wharfe Valley at the front.

Great find, perfect cottage in a wonderful locatio

  • 5 of 5

This small two bed cottage has everything going for it. Cute and cottagie without feeling your staying in a catelogue! Everything look brand new, except the building which is about 250 years old. So easy - it even has private off road parking and a front garden for the mornings and a patio for the afternoons. Lots of light, lots of sun. Very well equipped with lots of treats in the fridge and thoughtful extras - even the wood burner was set up, ready for lighting. It's even got a burglar alarm.

And the views - magnificent. And you don't even need your car,,the 36 bus goes from Leeds to Harrogate to Ripon every 15 minutes. Harewood House is magnificent and do the 5 Mile circular walk around the estate - must be one of the most beautiful walks ever - and end up at Muddy Boots, the locally run cafe for a full English.,we will def be back. A beautiful little cottage close to the best that Leeds can offer

  • 5 of 5

We felt extremely welcome with the bare essentials waiting for us to make a good old cup of tea after a long and arduous journey. A lovely touch with a welcoming gift made us feel special and set us right for the beginning of our holiday. The cottage has a warm romantic feel to it, and plenty of wood available to make a log fire in the burner. The property is in easy reach of the places we wanted to visit during our stay, making it relaxing and stress free. We would highly recommend staying here and thank you for giving us the opportunity to stay at your lovely cottage.

Excellent break overNew Year

  • 5 of 5

Stayed in the cottage for a few days over New Year. The location and cottage itself was excellent.

Some great touches with a welcome pack including prosecco.

We've stayed in several cottages throughout the UK and would definitely recommend staying here.

Lovely cottage, great for families!

  • 5 of 5

We decided to visit North Yorkshire when a small window of time off opened up suddenly and we could go on a short break. How lucky we were that Gail's cottage was available! As a family of four with a 3 year old and a six month old, this cottage suited us perfectly. It is very nicely decorated (my 3 year old daughter called it the "Heart House" with the discreet heart theme!) And it has a very cosy feel. We stayed during a cold spell and we enjoyed the wood burner which made the living room and bedrooms very cosy. As we were travelling with a baby, we were pleased with the washing machine and tumble dryer which got a lot of use!!

The cottage is in a great location for exploring the area, we visited York, Castle Howard, Knaresborough, Harrogate and Scarborough. We would thoroughly recommend it and Gail was a very kind and helpful host!

Great Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

Had a fantastic stay the Cottage is perfect. The location fantastic for days out to York, Harrogate and Ripon. It was really nice to arrive to a bottle of wine thought this was a great touch. The fire was great and just what we needed after a hard days walking. The cottage is very well presented and you can see that the owners care for their guests and the experience they have. We will definitely be back as we love this part of Yorkshire and want to explore more of it. Highly recommended place to stay. 10/10
