Why Audrey & Melle chose Amsterdam Oud-West
I always wanted to have a houseboat for the freedom it gives you in Amsterdam. Most houses are very small and you always here a neighbour walking or talking above below or next to you. The privacy in a Houseboat is much better. I had to wait 10 years to buy a spot on the canal I am on now. It is one of the only canals which has the option of a Garden and terrace. It is also very peaceful and close to the park and all mayor city attractions. The neighbourhood is more diverse than the old city center part. Also a lot greener. At this moment it is one of the best places to be in Amsterdam. It is close to everything and very quietly hidden from all the noise.
What makes this House Boat unique
I had the houseboat build myself and one of the most pleasant things I have build in it is the underfloor heating which makes it awesome in winter. Also the combination of colours is unique in a city with grey brick walls everywhere : ) Also the Garden with many plants is unique compared to a Houseboat without a garden. Lot's of Green and privacy!

A very special experience!
Staying on a house boat on a canal in Amsterdam was a highlight of our 10 day trip to Europe. The location, amenities and furnishings of the houseboat are incredible. The fully equipped kitchen made meal prep a breeze. Communication with our hosts was prompt and they were quite accommodating of special requests!
A nice play to stay!
The property matches exactly the pictures on the site. The tram to downtown is a short walk less than 2 blocks away. When we asked for additional towels, they were provided within 10 minutes! Other than that, we didn't need to bother the host as there was a guide n booklet with all the info needed.
Thanks for a great stay!
Comfortable houseboat living in a residential neighborhood. Convenient location.
Owners were very responsive.
We would stay here again!
Beautiful place to stay
The description of the rental is right on. Communication with the owner was a breeze and her directions on how to arrive at the property and how to access the lockbox were perfect. The neighborhood had absolutely everything you could want, from shopping to eating to transportation. We found this to be an absolute gem.
Wonderful Stay, Wonderful Property
We were a party of four (2 adults, 2 teenagers) traveling to France for the Womens World Cup as well as visiting other cities. We started our journey in Amsterdam and wanted to experience houseboat living. Wow - did we pick the right houseboat. Conveniently located to all that Amsterdam has to offer, it was the ideal accommodation. Communication with Audrey and Melle was prompt and made our transition very smooth. The boat had enough room for the 4 of us to be comfortable throughout the visit. The listing was exactly as shown. Had one issue with the television but the owners responded immediately. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom was modern for a houseboat experience. We would definitely recommend the property and stay there on our next visit.
amazing place to stay
Lovely colourful boat to stay in the amsterdam and relax, nice, big windows and terrace makes it more beautiful. 15 minutes walking to the center. Quiet area, near to supermarkets and other facilities. I would definitely come back.
The Local area has many little lunchrooms and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Also a variety of little shops a farmers market. A big foodcourt in an old Tram yard. One can also rent a boat nearby and tour the Amsterdam canals. All mayor Museum's and park are in walking distance.
