Migratory ducks, swans and geese visit our bay and the beautiful call of the whimbrel echoes over the water from the lake's islands. On still days trout leap from the water and perch gather in the shallows.The house has a cosy, rustic charm with a spacious, kitchen dining room including a lacanche range cooker and log burner. Glass sliding doors give direct access onto the garden and patio area.The large lounge has a tv ,stereo system and an open fire, floor to ceiling windows offer views over the lake. Further afield, visits include trips through connemara to the white sandy beaches of the coast, westport house or kylemore abbey and gardens.We have brought up four children here with days spent cycling,walking or fishing on the lake for trout, perch and pike, swimming off the jetty and bbqs by the water.
