Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cabin in Wilsall - SkyArbor Guest House

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6-8)

As the name suggests, SkyArbor Guest House is where the trees reach for sky and the mountains meet the plains. This edge region along the west slope of the Crazy Mountains supports abundant wildlife, and many trees and wildflowers adorn the cabin area.

A constant delight is the breathtaking panorama, with the Crazy Mountains rising up to the east, and the Bridger Mountains sweeping to the west. Sunrise and sunset can be spectacular, casting shadows across the foothills and rosy hues upon the mountains. The Big Belt Mountains are to the north, and looking south from the top of the property are the Beartooth, Absaroka, and Gallatin Mountains.

Living quarters include a large dining/kitchen/gathering area; a study/living area; main floor bedroom and main floor bathroom with shower; a separate sunroom/living area; one large bedroom loft with multiple bed capacity; and one smaller bedroom loft with double bed.

Vistas of weather and horizon steadily change. Deer often feed through, antelope and often elk can be seen at a distance (bring binoculars), sometimes moose, bear and coyote wander through, and birds, squirrels, rabbits, and chipmunks are always scurrying by.

Horseshoes can be played behind the cabin. A campfire area is available for evening enjoyment. Have a picnic at the outside table, or enjoy quiet time or a picnic at the gazebo overlook.

Fishing can be had in alpine lakes or in the nearby Shields and Yellowstone Rivers. Big game and bird hunting are available in national forest lands or block management areas. Yellowstone Park is less than two hours. Shopping, restaurants and galleries can be found in Wilsall, Clyde Park, Livingston, Bozeman, and Big Timber.

Why Paul and Susan Seastrand chose Montana

SkyArbor Guest Cabin started out as a retreat and recreational cabin in 1984, and additions to the building and property steadily advanced. Family and friends savor the dramatic views of weather, sky and terrain, as well as the nearby availability of hiking, fishing, hunting, and sightseeing.

In 2003, the Seastrands made room in the calendar to use SkyArbor as a Guest Cabin, and this is advertised through their website--SkyArbor, Vacation Rental by Owner--VRBO, and Visit Montana-.

What makes this cabin unique

Guests often return, and Paul and Susan keep the door open for those who seek comfortable lodging amid serenity and panoramic beauty.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for letting us enjoy your cabin. You both made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. There are so many small things that you have done that make it special from the caramels and games to the honey you gave us. Our whole family thanks you both for one of the most memorable and enjoyable family vacations we have ever had. JS

Wonderful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

When my wife and I arrived, we were met by the owners. We were given a tour of the house and property to familiarize ourselves with the area. The Seastrands answered any questions we had and gave us contact information if we needed anything. They want you to have the best time possible while staying here. They are gracious hosts and stock the house with everything one might need to settle in comfortably. There are numerous grocery stores in Livingston to choose from.

The house is beautiful and the views are unbelievable plus the wildlife loves to pose for pictures. Mae and Jack are a riot when they come over for "snack time". We had an unbelievable vacation here and will definitely be returning.

The solitude and relaxing nature of the area is exactly what we needed. Thank you for everything

Owner's Response: Kevin and Stacy were a delight to have as guests of SkyArbor. They met us with friendliness and attentiveness as we explained the features of the cabin and property and the activities offered in the area. They left a gracious note upon departure as well as a cabin that was thoroughly clean and inviting. They are just the kind of guests that we appreciate and welcome back.

Great Mountain Get-a-way

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at SkyArbor. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We appreciated them meeting us there and showing us around the property. Be prepared for the steep driveway! We enjoyed the breathtaking views (especially from the gazebo) and the wildlife. Also it was fun to feed Mae (donkey) and Jack (horse). The cabin was pretty clean and easily accommodated six girls. Thank you, Paul and Susan, we enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful Montana Get-Away!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful vacation while staying at SkyArbor. The house was very clean and inviting. The mountain views were breathtaking ! The owners were very inviting and helpful and provided tips on great Trout fishing spots. We caught plenty of fish and enjoyed the serenity of the property. We also enjoyed the company of Jack and Mae (the horse and donkey ). We would definitely recommend this property to our family and friends and hope to go back again in the near future.

CS & sons

Wonderful and idyllic cabin! My brother, two sons, and I had a fantastic time staying here during our annual fishing and hunting trip to Montana. This is a true Montana experience away from the more crowded areas of Montana, but yet close enough to enjoy lunch or dinner in Livingston. I can't say enough about the great hosts, who went out of their way to accommodate my family's schedule and other needs. They take great pride in this cabin and it shows in the care they've taken to maintain it.

Excellent place to stay for a romantic get away. Secluded with the most beautiful views of 4 mountain

ranges! House was very clean and the owners are very nice and helpful. Would recommend highly to anyone going to yellowstone or the beartooth highway. Hardest part was leaving cabin to go anywhere!

A little bit of heaven

  • 5 of 5

Our first impressions on arriving at Skyabor were 'wow' from all on board and this stayed with us throughout our week long stay. There was even an arrival party in the name of Jack and Mae ( owners horse and donkey) to make our two boys eyes light up. Skyabor provides more than enough enterainment whether it is exploring the grounds of where it is situated ( 22 acres) to actually playing horsehoes with real horshoes, to tv or board game enterainment.

The peacefulness of Skyabor has a very calming feel to it and is confirmed by the impressive never ending views of mountains and pasture land as far as the eye can see.

We would thoroughly recommend Skyabor as a place to relax and re energize as a family - and to make sure you have a 4x4 as the roads near the cabin require it.
