The whole house is designed to have fun, with a massive kitchen/diner at the centre of the house. It’s where everyone meets, eats and has a good time, enjoying relaxed mornings, lazy lunches and fabulous family dinners. There is a large patio outside which is a real sun-trap and ideal for family barbecues after a fun day at the beach or walking along the many trails all around the area. The house is great for large parties with children of all ages; there is a games-room with table-football and a PlayStation and upstairs there is a box-room with a huge toy collection. Cornborough Coombe is set in almost an acre of private grounds with lawns, woods and gardens perfect for exploring, climbing and playing games all day long. The house has many original features with uneven floors and a twisting, narrow wooden second staircase, so be careful after dinner! There are four large bedrooms, two en suite, looking over the gardens. This house is made for great holidays with family and friends.
"Arriving to a warm welcome from Sally the delicious cream tea really set the scene for the rest of our stay in this delightful cottage. Such attention to detail is so good to see! We decided not to travel as the weather has been so beautiful we decided to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the lovely garden."
"What a beautifully quiet, fantastically well-appointed and well-located home from home this is. We relaxed completely and the kitchen was our permanent chill out zone. The multiple rooms in the house made it easy for noisy kids + quiet adults to exist together. "
"Thank you Jack, Gro, Sally and all the staff involved for making Orchard so magical – beds are so comfortable, every room is beautifully decorated and furnished and it is all so wonderfully equipped."
IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST COTTAGES WE HAVE STAYED IN. IT WAS VERY BIG FOR ALL 10 OF US TO GET LOST IN. EVERYTHING YOU COULD WANT WAS THERE. EVEN THINGS TO TAKE TO THE BEACH, GAMES, BOOKS, THE WOODS, SWINGS, SLIDE, ROPE SWINGS AND MUCH MORE. WE WHERE A FAMILY RANGEING FROM 4 WEEKS TO 83 YEARS OLD AND WE ALL ENJOYED IT SO MUCH. IT WAS EXCELLENT FOR MY DISABLED MOTHER. SHE COULD DO ANY THING ON HER OWN IF SHE WANTED BECAUSE THE COTT WAS SO GOOD EQUIPED FOR THE DISABLED. THANK YOU FROM EVERYBODY.
We stayed at Cornborough cottages for a ladies weekend break it was a real gem of a property and absolutely perfect for a relaxing getaway. The main house and annex were full of charm with a lovely mix of old and new, very clean and well maintained with good quality furnishings and comfy beds. Tucked away in a peaceful rural location both cottages were well equipped with everything you could possibly need, the woodland and cottage gardens were really beautiful with plenty of space to lose yourself if you wanted to.
We would all love to book again and will definately recommend to friends.
I have stayed in many holiday cottages this property is one of the very best.
Thankyou for a truly wonderful weekend.
PS. The pub ' Pig on the Hill ' served great food and was only a 5 minute walk. Perfect !
I came to stay at the Cott for a week and could have stayed a lifetime!
It was fresh, bright and clean, and extremely comfortable. The garden and grounds were gorgeous and I spent most of my time outside from breakfast until dusk. Lots of places nearby to visit and explore. My favourite being a day in Clovelly. I would love to come with a larger group and stay at the cottage sometime. I had the most wonderful break.
THE PROPERTY WAS COMFORTABLE AND SPACIOUS, WE HAD THE COTT A TWO PERSON ANNEX WITH A DISABLED SHOWER AND TOILET.
VERY QUIET AND OFF THE BEATEN TRACK.
WE TOOK OUR WESTIE ANGUS AS IT CATERS FOR PETS, BUT WE WERE A LITTLE PUT OFF BY DOG HAIRS ON THE SEATING,AS ANGUS IS NEVER PERMITTED ON FURNATURE.
OTHER THAN THIS IT WAS RELAXING AND CLOSE TO MANY PLACES TO VISIT.
Cornborough Coombe cottages were a dream! We were a party of 8 aged from late fifties to toddlers! We had two small boys with us, and the grounds of the cottage were a complete wonder to them, they were always outside exploring we had to drag them inside! slides, rope swings, trees to climb, pooh sticks in the (shallow) stream it had it all! Two lounges meant the kids could play in one room, and the adults could lounge in the other, & then there was the kitchen where we all gathered from morning till late night around the huge kitchen table - it was very cozy. The bedrooms were stunning, and the little toy room at the turn in the stairs were a favourite place for two small toddlers to hide. The place was spotless and we were welcomed by Sean who showed us around the property when we arrived and was very helpful responding quickly to my text queries! The cottage is very private, its not signposted its down a very small lane that has a notice up that says "private keep out" lol! But as you creep down the lane in your car wondering if you're going to end up in someone's front garden, Cornborough Coombe Cottage reveals itself with its bright pink facia and crunchy gravel drive, its a real joy! We all absolutely loved it, and my grandson keeps asking where has the pink house gone? My only niggle was the wifi didn't work but we understand there was a problem that was being worked on, and our only recommendation is that the TV's really need upgrading. On the whole perfect!
