Abigail's is a beautiful 2 bedroom character cottage set in the quiet North Devon village of Northam between Bideford and Westward Ho!. Perfect for both couples and families, Abigail's is ideally located for exploring the local area, including its golden beaches and Exmoor. Recently fully refurbished to a very high standard, the cottage has a light and colourful atmosphere being stylishly decorated and having a south facing terrace garden with BBQ terrace. A beach theme runs throughout the cottage and is emulated in the paintings, soft furnishings and decorations. On arrival at the cottage it may look a little understated despite its pretty white washed façade but step inside and a whole new impression is guaranteed to emerge. Deceivingly small from the front, Abigail's is a tardis once inside with large and spacious rooms that are all tastefully decorated in a contemporary style. The bright and airy lounge leads through to a well-equipped kitchen and is perfect for all weathers with its gas effect fire for chilly winter evenings, a comfy sofa-bed and tiled floors. To the rear of the cottage is the raised terrace where you can enjoy summer afternoons or a BBQ. Upstairs at Abigail's are two very pretty bedrooms, one of which can be used in a variety of ways depending on your needs, thanks to zip and link beds and an additional day bed. There are also two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a wonderful roll top bath, which is the highlight of the Master Bedroom en-suite. Throughout Abigail's there are touches of class and elegance, as well as hints of fun and colour. Think original wood oars cleverly crafted into bannisters meet crisp white bed linens and plush cushions. This character cottage has also retained many of its original features, including Victorian fireplaces. Whatever your reason for visiting North Devon, Abigail's can provide the perfect place to relax. It is ideally located for a number of local activities, including water sports on some of the country's best beaches, walks along the South West Coast Footpath and a round of golf on Britain's oldest links course, The Royal North Devon. Children will also enjoy the many attractions that are available within a thirty minute drive, including The Big Sheep and The Milky Way. There are also local shops and restaurants in Northam that are all within walking distance of the cottage's front door.

Lovely holiday with plenty of sunshine! We spent lovely days out at Croyde Beach, Puttsborough and surfing at Woolacombe. Also beautiful Appledore with its narrow lanes and the harbour crab sandwiches from Johns deli were delicious!
Cottage was comfy and cosy – we particularly enjoyed the sun terrace at the back. We hope to come back very soon!

Fantastic holiday and fantastic weather.
Cannot fault the accommodation, the cottage has everything you could hope for – love the quirky pieces of art.
Ilfracombe is well worth a visit and the little beach at Instow. Many thanks.

Beautiful cottage, so airy and spacious and well equipped. We were blessed with fabulous weather and spent most of our time at Westward Ho on the beach!
Memories is well worth a visit, we will be back!

What can we say – amazing house, great character and a lovely place for us and our 3 boys to take a break. Boys loved their surf lessons on Westward Ho! Highly recommended for teenagers and our 4 year old loved crabbing! Instow a lovely place for food and fab little beach.
All in all a lovely week spent in Northam / North Devon.

Lovely Cottage had a great week even though weather was not so good! Attention to detail in cottage brilliant, will certainly use again.
We had a great stay at Abigails cottage! It was a good base for exploring North Devon. The cottage was beautifully clean on arrival and we really appreciated our welcome treats! The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils and gadgets you could wish for! We enjoyed sitting in the garden which was a real sun trap in the evening.
We had a wonderful week and would recommend this cottage to friends and family!
Stayed at Abigail's Cottage with my 80 year old mother. It was perfect for the two of us with a separate bathroom and an en-suite.
Description on the web site is accurate and the cottage was spotlessly clean and well maintained.
Its lovely and light in the kitchen dining and sitting areas, and the master bedroom is very pretty.
I haven't given Abigail's a 5 star rating for 2 reasons:-
1. The staircase up to the first floor is very steep which Mum struggled with, this is something to bear in mind if you are considering renting with an elderly friend or relative.
2. There are only 3 places to eat in Northam. A Chinese take away, a very good fish & chip shop (take away) and the excellent Memories if you can get a table ! For a wider choice you can walk to Appledore or travel to Barnstaple or Bideford, all of these local towns are accessible by a very frequent bus service.
It's a lovely cottage all round, which was perfect for our little family (me, my wife and our 5 month old son). The cottage is very nicely decorated with everything needed for a holiday. It's a great location in the centre of Northam, close to all the village amenities and only a mile or two from Westward Ho!, Appledore and Bideford.
It's easy to get to the tourist attractions of Bideford as well as further afield to places like Barnstaple, Croyde and Woolacombe.
we loved our stay in abigails cottage. It was really a nice place and very nice people in Northam. We can really recommend this cottage.
The beach at Westward Ho! is one of the best in the area. Backed by a pebble ridge and cliffs it is nicely sheltered and perfect for families with children, as well as those seeking peace and quiet for sunbathing or reading a book.
The beach at Westward Ho! is only a short drive away, or can easily be accessed on foot via the beach at Northam, which is less than a mile from Abigail's.
A number of water sports, including surfing and kayaking are also available at the beach.
Abigail's is located in the centre of Northam village, which has good bus links to local towns and villages, however a car is recommended to be able to see the best of what North Devon has to offer.
