''We came here to celebrate my sixtieth birthday. What a wonderful venue, well equipped and very much a ‘home from home’. A great escape, hope to come back for another visit.''

''Two weeks in a super house and in a super location. There were six adults and five children for the first week and down to four adults and three children for the second week. The weather was mostly kind to us and we all loved the beaches. We all had lots of fun. Superb walking here too, especially the coastal walks. The house was large enough for us all to have space and to congregate as a family. Thank you for making our holiday.''
The Stables property was amazing! It's large and tastefully equipped, and Pat made us feel very welcome. There was even a homemade cake and wine when we arrived!! We loved the bedrooms and en-suites, although the mattresses in all rooms were noisy and not very comfortable. Mattress toppers would be a lovely addition. The twin room downstairs would benefit from a power point near the mirror for hairdryer use and the en-suite could do with a shaver point.
The large lounge, dining and kitchen areas were absolutely perfect for our family gathering! The kitchen is amazingly equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, food processor, 5 ring cooker with double oven, large fridge/freezer and a wine/drinks cooler which was much appreciated as we were lucky enough to have fantastic weather for our visit and cold drinks were a must!
The communal games room with it's darts, table tennis, table football and air hockey was a joy to have as the children could take themselves off to play on their own. One very minor point, some of the table tennis bats are a little tired and need replacing. The tennis court is well maintained and was a great addition to this property. Even though these areas were communal, we didn't have to wait to use them at all which was brilliant.
We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this property to anyone!
I stayed with 10 friends and family for my stag do. The stables gave more than ample space and excellent facilities of games room and tennis court. It was an excellent location close to essentials but still rural. We all had a fantastic time and were blessed with fantastic weather.
A great place to stay.
Well appointed property with everything you could want.
In a beautiful quite location but near to some great surfing beaches
The outside furniture needed a little attention and some general maintenance would benefit the property.
I would recommend this property for families the accommodation was ideal for us, four families. The games room and tennis court were good
The owner was extremely good. We enjoyed a lovely home made cake and coffee and wine that Amanda provided on arrival
A really quality property. Fantastic to have 6 rooms each with an en suite. This is a rare find. Lovely Victoria sponge on arrival! Property fully kitted out with everything you might need. Great space. My only criticism would be that it was not quite as clean as it could have been. I do accept that cleaning a big house like this must be a nightmare, but the first thing we noticed was the greasy dirt on the lamps overhanging the kitchen island.
Not to be too critical though - the place is huge and the outside space is brilliant.
Absolutely brilliant holiday! The accommodation and garden was fantastic for our large group and the location was perfect for visiting the local beaches.
Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again next year :)
The Stables was immaculately clean on our arrival and there was complimentary wine and cake as an unexpected bonus. It's a beautifully appointed and spacious property with an ensuite for all six rooms and a lounge large enough for everyone to congregate. There a well equipped kitchen and a good outside area in which to barbecue or sit to enjoy the sunshine and eat out in good weather. It was a great centre for exploring the North Devon area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The two local pubs recommended for meal out were excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend the property and may well consider going again in the future!!
