Lochend has one four poster double bed in a pretty bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a large lounge with breathtaking views, a well equipped kitchen and small utility room. The cottage is perfect for a relaxing holiday away from it all and for those looking to explore the area.
Lochend has its own garden surrounded by a wall; as it is completely on its own. The cottage gives you maximum peace and tranquillity.
In the winter months there are always Whooper swans on the loch, which have come down from Greenland and the far North to spend the winter in Applecross.
In the garden there is a nice private patio area with sun loungers if you are a worshipper of the sun. There is also a teak table and bench so you can sit out and enjoy an “al fresco meal” while watching the sunsets. Remember, as we are so far north, the summer days are long and the nights are short.
As the cottage is situated on croft land there are usually sheep around and you should see red deer roaming behind the cottage. As you walk out of the cottage gate you can take the foot path up to the higher ground where the views are even more spectacular.

On the cottage description, it says WiFi but we could not connect. Probably my fault but would be good to have some instructions. Also, on one site, we were led to believe there would be a wood burning stove but instead there is an electric wood effect heater. Other than that, it was perfect. And we will definitely come back.
Lovely little cottage within walking distance of Applecross and good food at the local pub. Great to sit out an enjoy the views. Applecross is a small village with a well stocked village shop buy best to stock up with provisions before heading out to this remote village. The owner was very helpful when we had an issue with the dvd player which was quickly resolved

We had a lovely week at this well maintained and clean cottage overlooking a small loch and the sea. Applecross is a beautiful peninsular and we have stayed here many times but it was our first time at Loch End and I recommend it.
When we arrived at Applecross it was 9pm at night but still light. We had driven some 800 miles in one day so were very exhausted and tired. The cottage was warm and welcoming. We were very pleased to find that it had everything that we needed and also a Jacuzzi bath as well as a shower. Bed is a four-poster and very comfortable, Found the cottage to be extremely cosy and warm at all times and would not hesitate to return the Lockend again in the future if we decide to visit Applecross again next year. First class accommodation and lovey place to spend a relaxing week away from home. Ten out of ten.
This cottage is compact but cosy and has the best position you could imagine, at the foot of its own mini-loch which in turn looks out over the Straits to Skye.
