Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Anna and Bryan,

Thank you for sharing the amazing Chez Claude with us. It was a refuge when the feet were too sore, or the occasional hang over was too large. It was the highlight of our trip! We are already planning our return visit.

Wonderful apartment on the Seine

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this apartment. The location could not be better, and the double-glazed windows keep out the noise of the busy street and river below. The apartment is in a building that is a bit rough around the edges, but the apartment itself is wonderfully appointed and well-equipped; everything that you need is there. Our greeter met us promptly, spoke perfect English, and introduced to all the features of the apartment. When we had a problem with the hot water (we were not familiar with the on-demand heater), he returned quickly to fix it. Beside the incredible views from the windows (Notre Dame!) I appreciated having the stable and fast internet connection. I could go on and on, but let's just say again that we loved this place. We hope that it is available on our next trip to Paris.

A charming apartment with views to match...

  • 5 of 5

My sister and I had a wonderful stay in this apartment. We were immediately impressed by charm of the apartment and could not have been happier with our choice of accommodation in Paris. We loved the location of the apartment and we were able to walk to many of the tourist attractions ( the metro is very also very close.) The apartment itself is very warm ( we were there in March and it snowed one day!) and cosy. The kitchen is well equipped and food markets nearby for anyone wanting to prepare meals. We appreciated the restaurant recommendations ( which were fabulous by the way... we tried three of them! ) that are included in the apartment manual which itself is very detailed and informative. I really liked the large library of books and DVDs which is a nice touch. We were very happy with our choice of apartment in Paris.

A great place to stay in Paris

  • 5 of 5

We were fortunate to have found and rented this lovely apartment for our week long stay in Paris. The rental (pre-arrival) process was well organized and flawless. Communication with the property owner was timely and clear; which reassured us that we had rented a great place. On arrival we were greeted on time by the property manager and the apartment was precisely as described. Clean, well equipped and well located in the heart of Paris. The apartment felt safe, well secured and very comfortable for a family with young kids. Having reliable heat, hot water, a full kitchen and laundry in a central Paris apartment is quite a luxury. The apartment and rental process easily met/exceeded our expectations. I couldn't imagine having the same great trip while staying in a small hotel room typical of that area of Paris. Highly recommended.

Great place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for two weeks and very much enjoyed the apartment. Its perfect for a couple, especially if you like to cook. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped and maintained..This is clearly a home for the owners and the supplies and attention to detail make it very livable. Although we've been to Paris many times, this place is ideal for first timers because it is so centrally located, only one and half blocks from Place St Michel and transportation, and overlooking the Seine. The directions, apartment instruction manuals and suggestions for local sites are the best we've seen. The owners clearly put a lot of effort into making the place fun for their guests.

The support staff could not have been more helpful in all the pre-trip communications and follow-up. We have already recommended this place to friends.

We expect to return again.

Awesome is an understatement

  • 5 of 5

Everything was wonderful. Anna was a great hostess, the property was perfectly as described. Location could not have been better. Everything was clean and well maintained. There were many small details that Anna had taken care of, including putting together written documentation on sites to see, good local restaurants etc. The restaurant recommendations were spot on. We loved them.

Location, Location, Location!

  • 5 of 5

PERFECTLY located in the 6th, right on the Quai de Conti, with fantastic views of the Seine and Notre Dame. It’s just a short walk to the Saint-Michel Metro stop and surrounding restaurants, shopping and nightlife. The apartment is nicely furnished, comfortable, equipped with all the amenities and is quite roomy by Paris standards. The wood floor does squeak under your feet, but I guess that’s just part of the Paris charm. This apartment is not inexpensive but, all things considered, is definitely well worth the price.

We’ve rented quite a few vacation apartments in our time and if you’ve ever had concerns over how an owner might deal with issues that come up, rest assured you will not find a more responsive and accommodating owner than Anna. Accordingly, Martine, the owners’ local representative who met us at the apartment upon our arrival, was very helpful and had a genuine interest in making sure everything was satisfactory. There was an issue with the gas stove top that she was determined to get resolved and, after we checked in and left to do some sightseeing, Martine stayed behind for several hours to meet the repairman and make sure it was replaced and functioning properly.

In summary, our stay was great. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone who values location, view, amenities and the assurance that the owner will go above and beyond to make sure your stay is enjoyable.

Stylish and central, Chez Claude is on the famous Left Bank of the beautiful Seine in the highly desirable and exciting ‘Sixth Arrondissement’ in the heart of Paris. Chez Claude gives you the very best; ‘the perfect apartment, in the perfect location,' to truly experience the essence of Paris. With a view over the Ile de la Cite, Sainte Chapelle and the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris, this apartment couldn't be more centrally located.

Chez Claude is in a 17th Century building on Quai des Grands Augustins. 'Quai', means 'wharf' in French. Chez Claude is on the famous Left Bank of the River Seine, an area rich with an exciting history.

The best way to experience The Sixth - and the rest of Paris - is by foot. This way you can take your time, and discover the many hidden possibilities. Travelling by bicycle is not only fun, it's also environmentally-friendly. Vélib, which means “vélo libre” or “vélo liberté” - ‘free bicycle’ or ‘bicycle freedom’ - is a great way to explore. Simply rent a bicycle from a hire point, cycle where you like, and return the bike to one of over 750 points located around the city.

Chez Claude is within walking distance of some of the world’s best restaurants. In St Germain are two of the most popular in Paris: Café de Flore and Les Deux Magots, or if you are a fan of Midnight in Paris, Cremerie Polidor is a ten-minute walk away.

Walk out of Chez Claude and you're in an area full of fantastic shops. From designer boutiques to bakeries, from antique shops to modern bookshops. It's easy to while away many hours, whether you're here to pick up a bargain or simply enjoy some window shopping.

The Latin Quarter with its rich literary and artistic heritage is a short walk from Chez Claude. Enjoy a walk through the bustling streets to literally follow in the footsteps of great writers and artists, including Ernest Hemingway, James Joyce and Pablo Picasso, who came to Paris to create some of their greatest works.
