Chessels Court on The Royal Mile - our three bedroom, well equipped holiday home is perfectly located to allow you to experience all that Edinburgh has to offer whilst enjoying the peace and quiet of the grassy square at the centre of Chessels Court.

A unique property which can accommodate up to 6 people comfortably (one person sleeping on a sofa bed). A contemporary, spacious and light living room with a beautiful fireplace and cosy cast iron stove will help you unwind after a day of shopping, there is a flat screen tv with many satellite programmes. The bright and modern dining kitchen is fully fitted with all modern appliances including microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and toaster. There are a full range of kitchen utensils, dishtowels, dishcloths, kitchen roll, washing up liquid, dishwasher consumables as well as a selection of herbs, oils, flour, basic condiments, tea, coffee, sugar, foil and cling film.

The two double bedrooms are spacious and bright, each with a super king-size bed which can be split to make two single beds depending upon your requirements. Beautiful, hotel-quality Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels add a further touch of luxury.There is also a good sized single bedroom which has a lovely view over the grassy square.

Pamper yourself in the new bathroom which is furnished with a luxurious walk-in shower.

Entry to the building is from Chessels Court which can be accessed from three paths (or 'Close's') off the Royal Mile. Chessels Court is the only grassy square on The Royal Mile. The building is almost 300 years old and has a beautiful entrance and stairwell.

Please be aware that the apartment is on the second floor of the building and does not have a lift.

Edinburgh Castle. Holyrood Palace. Princess Street Gardens. The world-famous Fringe Festival and Hogmanay celebrations. The Six Nation Rugby at Murrayfield, countless bars and restaurants and great shopping for every taste and budget.

We have travelled throughout the world and have lived abroad a few times but our heart will always be here. The apartment on The Royal Mile is a perfect base to explore this amazing city.

Really comfortable and central flat in Edinburgh.

We had a wonderful half term break staying in this three bedroom flat off the Royal Mile in Old Town Edinburgh. The flat had everything you would need and the beds were really comfortable. We would love to return although next time we will do some more research on places to eat and book the table each night. We came by train and the station was an easy walk away.

Royal Mile Delight

Marion was at the flat to meet us & was very friendly, showing us around and explaining where things were. Overall first impressions of the flat were of cleanliness and modern fixtures and fittings without clutter. The flat is very comfortable, amply-sized for 4 adults and was warm and cosy when we returned at night. Situated about half-way between Edinburgh Castle & Holyrood House, it is in a prime position to explore the Old Town. Edinburgh Waverley Station is about 5 minutes walk away ( albeit up either a steep hill or flight of stone steps ) & Princes St and New Town are both within a pleasant stroll. Catching a No.35 Lothian bus on the Royal Mile virtually outside the flat will take you to Ocean Terminal & the Royal Yacht Britannia in Leith. There is a wide range of options for both lunch and dinner nearby from traditional Scottish to Mexican although some of the local bars seem to stop serving food around 8pm as they have live music in the evenings. Booking a table in your chosen restaurant beforehand is advisable. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

cozy and comfortable apartment in a central location

3 friends and I stayed at this apartment this past weekend for a "girls trip" to Edinburgh, and we all agreed that this apartment was great. It was exactly as pictured and very clean. It is also tastefully decorated and cozy. The towels were soft, the beds were comfortable, the shower was spotless, etc. We never used the kitchen, but I noticed that it had a good supply of dishware and cooking utensils, as well as basic food items such as coffee, tea, sugar, oil. The beds can be arranged to make 5 singles. The bedroom with the only single bed is located on one end of the apartment, and the other two bedrooms with the double or 2 singles are down the hall.

The apartment is steps off of the Royal Mile, so there are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and all sorts of interesting shops as soon as you walk out to the street. I also noticed a small grocery store a block away from the apartment. Everything is close by. Edinburgh is not a large city, and we walked everywhere.

The owner, Marion, was always helpful and prompt to reply to my questions.

Overall, this was a great apartment. It was perfect for our group of 4 friends, but it would have worked just as well for a family with young children or teenagers, or couples traveling together. It was also the kind of place that a guest could stay at for a longer time (like over a week) because it was so clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend it!

Perfect place to rest and in the middle of everything.

Great place, in the middle of it all and right on the Royal Mile.

The place is super clean, Aga and her staff are great, beds are firm (our preference) and the blankets a warm and comfortable.

Would not change a thing and we will be back.

Great property in great location

The apartment was perfect for us - located right on the Royal Mile, but tucked back in a court that muted almost all of the hustle and bustle of the street, spotless and sensibly furnished. The owner was a pleasure to rent from - she arrived punctually for check-in, made check-out simple, and was very helpful with information about the area and how to find the property. We'd definitely stay here again for our next visit to Edinburgh.

Great location and very comfortable flat

We stayed during the Fringe Festival and are a family of five. It was a fantastic location for accessing the Festival and was a very, very comfortable apartment. The flat is in a quiet (but famous) close just off the main drag. We found the flat to be perfectly appointed being newly re-decorated and kitted out. The owner was very accommodating of our somewhat erratic and ever changing arrival schedule. She was very professional and accommodating. I highly recommend the property!!
