About the property

Flexible accommodation for any size group from a couple up to 20, B&B available

Rancho del Ingles has much to offer. The original farmhouse is over a century old while the rest of the houses have evolved over the last 25 years.

The Main House is spacious, verging on grand, and accommodates 6-8 people. A few metres away is the original farmhouse which has been converted into 3 double bedrooms, and three annexes each with twin beds and all with ensuite showers. A huge independent studio has been used for weddings, courses and retreats at additional cost. Please enquire.

The property is secluded but not isolated with many terraces set within spacious grounds of orange, lemon and avocado groves, woods, a stream and mature shrubs. The pool (with shallow end) is raised making it safer for toddlers. People love the space and often prefer to stay by the pool than explore Andalucia and the Costa del Sol.

Email to receive a plan of the property. We can cater for everyone from one night Bed & Breakfast to exclusive booking of all the property for around 20 people.

Rancho del Ingles - The whole property: Rancho del Ingles offers very flexible accommodation from bed and breakfast for a couple for a weekend, through to a party of 20 for the whole summer or even a wedding party or yoga retreat. But we realise that this might also be rather confusing. Please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be delighted to talk through your requirements and clarify details given here.

Activities: According to your interests and requirements we should be very pleased to discuss activities available. We run occasional Painting and Drawing Holidays, and Yoga Holidays as well as weddings. Also there are many sightseeing visits and activities we can suggest but some might be more than 15 minutes drive away.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Can't wait to go back! S.C ... Rancho del Ingles is superb … The little ones loved being there … It was indeed a most memorable and happy holiday and I revelled in the congratulations of the family for having found Rancho del Ingles … it proved to be a marvellous choice. L.C ... a fantastic holiday both houses completely exceeded our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed the gardens and the pool. It is a great spot for local sightseeing, we managed to get to Seville, Granada, Ronda, Puerto Banus, Marbella and we did have plans to see lots more, but we found we enjoyed the house so much that it was a real struggle trying to motivate ourselves to actually get up and do something. P.H ... Fantastic, you should have talked us into two weeks! R.F ... We particularly liked the fact that (the local town) wasn't touristy . We also enjoyed the restaurants you recommended, especially the pizza place...ventured into the town for a few drinks and a spot of pool to keep the lads happy. P.H

Amazing holiday!

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 15 who stayed at the ranch for a long weekend. Everyone loved the accommodation, really comfortable rooms all nicely decorated as well as extra touches like shampoo, conditioner, face wipes, beach towels and hairdryers. The gardens are beautiful and there lots of different areas to spend time in.The kitchen was really well equipped and along with the BBQ, cooking for such a big group was no problem. Miyuki was so helpful with organising food shopping, transfers to and from the airport, transport into Malaga and the beach which saved us the hassle of organising multiple taxis. It really helped having someone so responsive to organise all the logistics! It's one of the nicest properties for a big group we have stayed in and would absolutely recommend and hope to stay again in the future!

Didn't want to leave

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 days at the ranch. Extended family of 19 from grandparents to toddlers.

We loved our time at the Ranch and found more free time as the week went on to explore and enjoy the unique setting. We couldn’t believe we were so close to the airport (20 minutes) and yet were never bothered by aircraft noise. I wish we could have stayed longer.

We self-catered with breakfasts in the courtyard, lunches indoors where it was cooler and then BBQs in the evening.

Everyone loved the pool and gazebo area and the children spent hours playing hide and seek in the grounds which are large but not that vast that you worry about where the children are. There is a stream but you would need machetes to reach it and is far enough away that the children never went down to it, so that was not a concern. Security is good.

We had one unlucky accident with a twisted ankle on the path next to the pool but otherwise the property seems very safe.

There is no air-conditioning but it does cool down at night and with fans on and windows open most managed to sleep well once we got used to the noise of the crickets (at night) and the birds (daybreak).

You'll need a hire car if only for the daily trek to the Supersol or restaurants.

We had plans to go to the beach or drive around the mountains but in the end we found all the views and relaxing we needed "at home".

David and Miyuki were always available and very helpful but never intrusive.

PS: One gripe unrelated to the accommodation but still bugging us is the taxi service at Malaga airport. We were "poached" by Malaga Taxis, aka Spain Shuttle SL and a shark called Carlo Piran. They were holding up our name card that they had seen from another company and escorted us into their taxis when we had already pre-paid with another company. So we ended up paying twice with no refund from either company. We are not sure if this is a co-ordinated con but be warned and double check that the taxi driver picking you up is from the company you booked with! In any case, please do me a favour and steer clear of Malaga Taxi, Spain Shuttle SL and Carlo Piran! Our return transfer was provided by Suntransfers.com and their service, price, cars and drivers were perfect.

Nice relaxing place

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the Rancho, everybody loved the place, quiet but at the same time with plenty of things to do. The pool was wonderful and the kids enjoyed it very much. The gardens, patios and gazebos were very enjoyable too. The only thing that did not work out quite so well was that the house at the front of the Rancho - the studio close to the pool - was not as comfortable as the rest. It was quite large but had no mosquito nets. Having said that, the rest of us were very pleased with the accomodation.

About the Rancho

  • 5 of 5

Quirky and lovely oasis and so close to Malaga airport! Kind and caring owner couple. Would recommend to anyone especially those who don't like IKEA but do love sun, pools and comfort. Plenty of hidden corners for intimacy even within the context of a 6 family holiday (which we were)

Hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5

After much deliberation and trepidation about travelling to one of the most crowded and overpopulated Costas in Spain, we were wooed by the website and the friendly manner of the owners. When we arrived we were not disappointed, in fact we were a little overwhelmed; the website is far too modest for a what is a fabulous gem of a place hidden away in the hillside just outside Malaga.

The setting is beautiful gardens, with lots of different areas for relaxing in the shade under lemon trees, pergolas or sunbathing on loungers by the pool. The accommodation itself is tastefully decorated; in keeping with a modern 'country' style while having it's own personality through the amazing pieces of architectural salvage peppered throughout; the ceiling from the former FCO, steel pillars from a Victorian church in Wandworth. Yet it's not crowded and is clean and airy. We were lucky enough to stay in the studio which we highly recommend for a romantic break.

The owners themselves are helpful and friendly ready to give advice on local restaurants, walks and tours but not at all intrusive and give their guests space to relax.

This venue comes highly recommended, it's equally suited to couples, small groups or a big family get-away having facilities for all and it's great value for money.

The beaches and the restaurants close by aren't great but they aren't too bad either and if you have a car and are prepared to drive for an hour you can find quiet stretches of beach where you can escape English people and English food! Equally, if you want to do your bit for the environment or save money you could stay there without a car and take a taxi from the airport. The local town is a 20 minute walk away.

Fifteen minutes from Malaga airport, but not on the flightpath, Rancho del Ingles nestles peacefully in the foothills, just outside the small, busy town of Alhaurin de la Torre. It's well situated for driving to the Costa del Sol and other coasts and inland destinations of Andalucia such as Granada, with its magnificent Alhambra and gardens; the old hillside village of Mijas, famous for its spectacular views of the coast; Ronda with its medieval bridge spanning a gorge and much more. Seville and Cordoba can be reached within two hours by car or train. The local town is about 20 mins walk, or a few mins drive and provides bars, restaurants (which welcome small children) and cafes; tennis; market and shopping. Malaga, often overlooked, is close and has much to offer including: the new Picasso museum, the cathedral and the Alcazaba. Aquapark, Seaworld, Crocodile Park and Plaza Mayor with cafes, shops and cinema with English films, and 18 hole golf course are within short driving distance

Other Activities: water amusement park, cinema showing films in English, go karting, quad biking

Golf: Alhaurin de la Torre boasts its own 18 hole course at Lauro Golf which is about a ten minute drive, while ten minutes further on there is the 18 hole, Alhaurin Golf. There are about thirty other courses on the 50 mile stretch of the coast, or Costa del Golf as it is often known. The fine weather makes golf popular with many all year round.

We welcome golf parties and will gladly arrange on bed and breakfast basis if required.
