I booked this villa after a fair bit of searching for a Christmas and New Year’s break for me and my two fussy sons.
Terry was very helpful all through the booking process and was on-hand for assistance throughout our stay.
The villa, although basic in the kitchen and living room, was ideal for those wanting to swim in the lovely heated pool and relax in the very nice hot tub, (both of which were cleaned regularly during our stay), and head out to explore the Island. The view of the mountains from the patio, over a coffee in the morning is very nice indeed and will be missed.
Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were spacious with good water pressure.
Wi-Fi speeds were excellent (500Mbps+), so no complaints from the kids.
We only switched on the TV for New Years and it seemed fine.
Although we had neighbours we never heard a peep from them, the villa is very quiet generally although there was some building work going on at the end of the road which broke the silence.
We hired a car before coming over (I can recommend Cicar dot com as being the best value at the time of booking) in order to travel the Island and get into town, but it’s actually only a 15-20min walk.
We had a couple of Indian takeaways delivered (we can recommend Flavour/Spice Lounge - they are the same people - but mostly drove to town to eat out.
The best places for us were:
Gusto (Italain)
Flavours (Indian)
(Both the above in the same part of town).
Ninen (Italian) Very small, book ahead for lovely perfectly cooked home-made pasta.
Camel (Generally everything inc. a good view)
(Both the above in the same area)
That said ,for the basics as well as stuff for breakfast/snacks/fruit/booze etc, there’s a little supermarket just down the road.
Notes:
December weather was ideal for us and the pool was warm enough (although it got a bit colder on the last two days).
Go to the Volcano at about 2:30/3 – you’ll miss most of the organised morning coach queues
Visit La Santa to see surfing (Weather permitting)
Visit Playa de Famara to see wind surfing, stunning views, and a very cool chic vibe. We had the best pizza there.
Head down to the lighthouse in Playa Blanca for the sunset.
If you fancy doing a bit of home cooking in the villa kitchen, bring your own sharp knife!
My eldest son said he wants to go back, so I take that as very highly recommended!
