Comfortable Villa with private pool and gardens in family-friendly Moraira

Bedrooms 5
Property type villa
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

Spacious 5 bed, 4 bath villa. Sleeps 10-12, 10mins from the beach.

Our family has grown up in this villa, relaxing together, eating together and most of all having lots of fun together. And we still love it! There is so much space to spend time all together, or find your own space for some peace and quiet. The master double bedroom is on the ground floor, and features a walk-in shower, plus bath en-suite. There are 4 further bedrooms upstairs (1 double, 2 twin, 1 bunk), while 2 more guests can fit on folding beds in the playroom (best suited to children/smaller people). The large table in the Naya is perfect for al fresco meals together, especially those cooked on the built-in BBQ. Please pick the lemons from the trees in our orchard to squeeze into your G&T or make homemade lemonade. There are plenty of sunbeds, and a mix of shade and sun around the garden and on the upstairs terrace throughout the day. The 9mx5m pool is 2m deep and a great size for kids to play in. If the weather necessitates a move indoors, the kitchen table can also accommodate everyone together, then there's a living room with FreeSat TV and a playroom with well-stocked bookshelves, puzzles and games for all ages. There are 4 bathrooms, central heating, fans and FREE WIFI for your convenience. This is an area of Spain in which a car is essential, and the villa driveway can comfortably accommodate 3 cars, 4 if necessary. We are situated within an hour from Alicante and Valencia airports, some world-class culture, walking, beautiful beaches, watersports, Michelin-starred restaurants, vineyards, golf courses and much more. We would be delighted to give you our family recommendations of places of interest nearby. Moraira itself is a friendly small town with a varied expat community, plenty of local amenities and a couple of lovely beaches, popular for family holidays. Though there are a few lively bars and one nightclub (though not disturbing the villa), a party/hen weekend town this is not!

About Debbie Sargent

The Forwood family bought this villa in 1989, and have enjoyed welcoming friends and family there on holiday ever since. I (Debbie) am now marrying one of the next generation of Forwoods, and administrating the letting of their villa alongside my 'normal' life as an entrepreneur. We're all based in London. The above photo shows us relaxing with some friends on a scuba diving holiday in 2015. Cheers!

Why Debbie Sargent chose Moraira

We love entertaining, and this villa is perfect for an extended family holiday, a big celebration or a holiday with friends. Moraira is such a friendly, relaxed resort that has avoided the high-rise development and noisy beach bars of places like Benidorm (20 mins away), while at the same time benefitting from its existence through plentiful and cheap flights to Alicante from all over the UK! We and our guests all love the pool - deep enough and big enough to play some seriously fun games with inflatables. In fact, it can be difficult to pull yourself away from the villa to explore the area, but DO, because the Alicante mountains are stunning, the sunsets over Calpe rock are not to be missed, and there's lots more to the Costa Blanca to be explored if you've had enough of relaxing on the beach.

What makes this villa unique

In the mornings, we set the outside table for breakfast in the sunshine while the boys nip to a nearby shop to buy fresh croissants and bread. On Friday mornings we'll then head to the market in town to pick up local meat, vegetables and the best nuts you have ever tasted! As the sun climbs higher in the sky and we return home and generally flop around reading or sun-bathing until we get too hot! But then we can pull the sun-loungers into the shade or go for a refreshing dip in the pool, and this is usually when I'll pick lemons from the tree in our orchard, mix with ice and a little sugar, and serve homemade lemonade to everyone. Lunch is usually taken around the enormous table under the shade of the veranda, and a siesta probably follows. Villa Mimosa is in a residential area, so there's rarely any noise to disturb your nap! Early evening some friends join us for drinks and nibbles, and as the sun sets and cicadas start trilling, we'll start preparing the BBQ. Everything tastes better when it's cooked outside! You'll be pleased to know we have two fridges, so there is PLENTY of room to chill enough beer or wine for everyone as well as storing a big food shop. We've stayed at Villa Mimosa every summer for over 25 years - it's well set up for big families, for entertaining and having a LOT of fun. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Best wishes, family Forwood.

Beautiful villa with amazing outside space. Perfect for a family holiday.

  • 5 of 5

Villa mimosa is a spacious villa with 5 bedrooms. There are ample bathrooms and extensive living space. The kitchen is well equipped and has enough space for people to eat round a lovely big kitchen table. There is light and airy lounge space upstairs but the best thing about this villa is the outside space. The gardens are spacious and well maintained and there are 2 sun terraces - one upstairs and one downstairs for sunbathing and relaxing. The pool is a good size and is well maintained. We had a few slight problems with hot water in the upstairs showers but nothing that detracted from our holiday. I would definitely recommend villa mimosa for a family holiday, although a car is essential in this location. Beautiful house which is very well kept.

Great villa, had everything we needed. Home from home!

  • 5 of 5

We loved Villa Mimosa. What a lovely place. Well equipped for our family, and could easily fit more people in as described. We really felt like it was a home from home. Kitchen was well equipped, we cooked loads and used the BBQ a lot.

Rooms inside were comfy, with lots of places to sit and relax. We stayed in the four poster room, only complaint was the bed, very hard mattress and it squeaked with even the slightest turn of the head! Made for a couple of restless nights sleep until we got used to it. The bathrooms were all lovely, with great water pressure and temperature.

There were a lot of board games, and books. And a few outdoorsy toys for the kids to play with. Videos out of date though and not a whole set of playing cards! We bought some so not too much of a problem there.

Both kids (and adults) loved the pool, we all spent a huge amount of time in there, loved the inflatables and water guns etc that were provided. They were a whole lot of fun! The pool was cleaned twice in the week whilst we were there which was great.

The garden and outside space was amazing, we spent ages exploring all the fruit trees and flowers. Had freshly picked lemons, limes and oranges in our nightly G&Ts. Delicious!

The local area was lovely. 10 minute walk if that from a nicely equipped supermarket and bars/restaurant. 10 minute drive down to Moraira town, with lots of bigger shops. Lidl and Carrefour nearby for bigger shops, petrol station close by too. Soft play and mini golf 10 min drive away which was fun, don't make the mistake we did though and go in the middle of the day! Very hot! Local beaches gorgeous, area so well kept, lots of free parking if you look for it. El portet beach is stunning, a must visit. With a lovely bar/cafe right on the beach.

We eat at the villa a lot, but there is plenty of choice to eat out locally aswell. Just explore, you won't regret it!

Tips: Bring plenty of insect repellant, we got bit a lot! Remember your sun lotion and hat - even in May it was so hot. Shop around for your essental things, don't just buy from the first shop you go to. You can definitely get better prices if you look around. There's a big free car park in Moraira with plenty of spaces.

Information provided to us during the booking process and leading up to our holiday was brilliant. The directions to the villa from the airport were excellent!

We are hoping to come back again in the future as we all loved it. Thank you so much to the Forwoods!

A great holiday!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great holiday overall in Villa Mimosa. A very spacious Villa with plenty of bathrooms so getting ready to go out was never an issue. However, There was an issue with hot water in the upstairs bathroom and en suite but we got by.

It is well equipped and we cooked on the BBQ which is lovely.

The managing agents were excellent and came the same or next day to sort any problems. The pool was cleaned regularly.

If you stay at this Villa, you do need to have a car. The local car hire firm were very reasonable.

Going in September the only thing we found was that the pool was a little cold as the conifer trees shaded the pool for most of the day because the sun was fairly low. This meant that the children didn't enjoy swimming as much as I would have liked.

We will definitely holiday at Villa Mimosa again in the future.

Villa Mimosa - Stunning - it makes your heart ache to leave

  • 5 of 5

The first impression is the very steep driveway, but to be honest, once you've navigated it once, it's a piece of cake.

The property itself is Magical. It feels like home the minute you walk under the arch, and turns into a Tardis as you walk through it. It's deceptively huge, but commfy and cozy at the same time.

More than adequate bathroom/shower/toilet facilities and as for bedrooms, choose a different one every night and you won't be dissappointed. Fans in them all and beautifully cleaned sheets, and adequate storage space for clothes and bags.

Wifi and Sky TV for the kids when the sun is too hot in the PM but tbh, there is plenty of shade around outside if you wanted it.

Talking of outside, wow, need i say more. Beautifully kept and well presented. A banana tree, a green orange tree, a lemon tree, all bearing fruit and giving lovely aromours.

The Pool is awesome. Perfect size and depth pitch, perfectly maintained by a very charming pool man. The key holders are lovely and incredibly helpful, as was Debbie. It all contributed to a fabulous, stressfree holiday. And the kids say it's the best holiday ever!!!!.....

There were 7 of us (4 adults, 3 children), and it was perfect. THANK YOU to everyone who helped to make our stay awesome.

Looking forward to going back in a couple of years time when we've saved up..

The property was very well equipped especially the kitchen.

  • 5 of 5

We all had a really good time, our ages ranged from 9 to 70. The pool was a good size for splashing around with the kids and for actual swimming, although the last step into the pool was very deep, I went from waist deep to shoulders in one step and I'm 5ft 2. The shops and bars were only a 5 minute walk away from the villa and the supermarket there was very well stocked, the meat counter was amazing. The beach was very clean and Moraira town had lots of bars and restaurants. The villa and surrounding area is a great venue for families. We are thinking about booking for next year.
