Appletree Cottage is our newest project, a nineteenth-century stable barn lovingly and stylishly converted into a spacious and eco-friendly holiday home. The sleeping accomodation at courtyard level has heated slate floors, luxurious limestone bathrooms with Grohe showers, wooden shutters, low energy lighting, contemporary solid oak furnishings, and super-kingsize beds with 400-count Egyptian cottons, while at deck level the living accommodation boasts solid oak flooring, leather sofas, a fully equipped chef's kitchen, a wide screen television with DVD and satellite, a super-efficient Burley woodburner and double French doors leading to a totally private, stone-paved deck carved out of the hillside, with outdoor dining facilities and Weber barbecue, surrounded by steep banks filled with herbs and wildflowers, through which a winding path leads past the dovecote up to the apple orchard above.

The property was great it suited our needs exactly,
Apple tree cottage was well equipped & had a very comfortable bed.
We had a very warm welcome from Piers & Sue with one of the best welcome packs we have ever had.
Delightful accomodation in perfectly peaceful location on a farm in the lovely Devon countryside.
The cottage was perfect for our needs. Two bedrooms and bathrooms/shower rooms on the ground floor. Sitting room with kitchen upstairs with doors opening onto private sunny patio. The countryside is beautiful and we were only minutes from the sea. The lanes were narrow but no more so than expected - it just takes longer to get anywhere. Great hosts, very happy to chat with us but not intrusive. They were happy for us to wander round their lovely farm. Couldn't recommend enough. All in all a great week.
Piers was a very friendly welcoming host with a fount of knowledge of the area, Apple tree Cottage provided every thing we could have wished for in a idyllic location with wonderful views. Could have spent longer as there is so much to see definitely worth another visit.
Fantastic Holiday Cottage
Lovely cottage in a great rural location. The owners Piers and Sue were so welcoming, I can't rate this property highly enough. We'll defiantly look to go back again. The cottage has been done up to a really high standard. It was our first holiday in Devon and its location allowed is to explore south devon. Its only 10 mins drive away from the nearest beach and 15 mins to Salcombe or Kingsbridge
Amazing few days!
We have loved the place. The owners very welcoming and the cottage really nice, clean and cozy. It has everything you need. We had a few fantastic days here. Great place to relax and enjoy the nature. We would love to come back!
I am delighted to give a review for Appletree Cottage. We had a wonderful welcome from the owners and a very generous welcome pack which included eggs, butter, milk, jam, coffee, juice and chocolate. The property is modern with everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday. The superking bed was so comfy. The property is one of three on the small holding with chickens running around, a handful of pigs, sheep and goats and a couple of horses (no smell or noise from these). You are encouraged to roam around freely. We had a private patio which was a sun trap during the day but we did not make the most of this as we were busy with the many other attractions in the area. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to couples and families alike.
Appletree Cottage at Cotmore Farm lies tucked away in a sheltered south-facing valley, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between Salcombe and Dartmouth, six miles from the pretty market town of Kingsbridge, and 40 minutes drive from the Dartmoor National Park and the fascinating medieval walled town of Totnes with its Norman castle. Barely a mile inland from South Devon's glorious coast, the cottage offers easy access to the superb beaches of Start Bay – Beesands, Slapton, Blackpool Sands and Hallsands – as well as the many sandy coves between Start Point and East Portlemouth, making it a paradise for walkers, birdwatchers, stargazers and watersports fanatics, as well as those who love both the freedom of the open countryside, and a traditional seaside holiday.
