About the property

Family, Waterfront Home With Large Pool Set In Quiet Private Community

Pelican Cove is a family waterfront home with a large heated pool offering accommodation for up to 11 persons between the four bedrooms. Set in the beautiful and quiet private community of Siesta Isles with no through traffic.

The house totals around 2,900 sq ft and has four bedrooms and three bathrooms- one large bedroom and bathroom being in a self-contained unit (Pelican Nest) at ground level. This makes the home ideal for a large or extended family or say for grandparents to be with the family but to also enjoy their own space.

The large heated pool (30 x 12 ft) enjoys sunshine throughout the whole day and is perfect for playing/ doing laps, or simply chilling on the sun loungers (6 provided). There is also a large table with chairs for outdoor dining. The private dock on the canal right behind the house is a perfect spot for fishing or for mooring a boat which can be hired from one of the many local marinas. A cabana houses a hot tub with stunning views over the water. Quality outdoor lighting allows the pool area to be used and enjoyed after dark.

In Pelican Cove (upstairs), the lounge area contains a large sectional sofa so that your family can cuddle up and watch their favourite TV show or movie (blu ray player). The open plan recently refurbished kitchen area has a large dining table and breakfast bar. A large utility/ laundry room is connected to the kitchen. Patio doors lead out to a screened lanai overlooking the pool and canal.

The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with double shower, walk-in closet and TV. It also has sliding doors to the lanai where you can take in the bay breeze and canal activity. There are two other bedrooms, one has a double bed with direct access to the family bathroom and a walk-in closet. The third bedroom contains two twin beds and walk-in closet.

The downstairs unit (Pelican Nest) is made up of a combined kitchen, dining and lounge. There is one large bedroom/ suite with two double beds, one single, sofa and walk-in closet. A full length drape/ curtain provides additional privy between beds if required. The entrance hall also has a sofa bed if required. There is one bathroom with a shower. The kitchen leads directly on to the pool and patio.

Our home is also equipped with high speed WiFi. We also provide bath and pool towels, hairdryer and full size washer and dryer.

There are numerous restaurants and supermarkets (Walmart and Publix 1.5 miles away) nearby as well as other attractions such as golf courses, crazy golf, designer shopping outlets and of course the beach!

There is plenty of parking for 4 cars or more.

You and your family will love this perfect setting- so relaxing and peaceful and yet so close to everything, with something for everyone of all ages.

About Jim and Louise Allpass

We live in the UK, 35 miles west of London, and have been visiting Florida regularly over the last 30 years. We purchased our first home in Fort Myers in 2002, an executive villa on Beach walk Isles. Having successfully rented the property and enjoyed staying there ourselves we decided, in early 2015, to look for a second home there which is slightly larger and also a waterfront home. We closed on this home in July 2015. We look forward to one day spend a significant amount of time at the home and to become boat owners!

Jim and Louise Allpass purchased this house in 2015

Why Jim and Louise Allpass chose Siesta Isle

The location is first class in terms of being so close to the beach but also in a quiet and attractive neighbourhood. Prior to purchasing the home we rented this property for a few days to ensure that it fulfilled our requirements in terms of a spacious home and being able to enjoy the outdoor life. We rented a boat which confirmed that we could be in the Gulf or backwaters behind Estero Island in 10 minutes. Whilst enjoying the pool area we saw both manatees and dolphins swimming up the canal. The additional accommodation downstairs will be ideal when either our adult children, other family members or friends come to stay with us.

What makes this house unique

Tranquility, easy access to the gulf by boat, all amenities close by.

Great home for two families with kids.

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in Cape Coral couple of times but always hated the drive to the beach. With this house you are only 5 minutes away by car. Our group consisted of two families and this house was perfect for this. The kids made the downstairs apartment theirs and the adults had the second floor to our selves. The large pool and hot tub was used often. We were concerned about the no see ems bugs with no cage on the pool but these insects get through all the nets anyway. We just bought a cheap Walmart box fan and that kept the bugs away at night. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need. The grill was nicer then in most of the rental homes. The pier area was very large and great for fishing and there are tackle stores within few minutes from the house. Lot of great restaurants in the area and couple of fish markets where you can get fresh shrimp or fish for the grill for a delicious lunch by the pool. One recommendation for the owner from the kids is to include couple of kayaks in the rental. Easy check in and check out and the electronic locks made it very convenient. Great house and would recommend highly for a two family vacation.

Owner's Response: Thank you for writing such a detailed review. Having owned a home with caged pool previously (for 15 years) we much prefer to be without one. As you mention the mesh in a cage doesn't stop the very small sandflies from entering and a cage would very much spoil the view over the water. A small disadvantage is that debris can enter the pool, particularly on a very windy day, however we provide a net for guests to use and our pool guy will always attend outside his normal weekly visit if our management company is advised that a clean is needed. With regard to providing kayaks for guests, we have looked into this however have been advised that there is a significant insurance risk if we do so. Regrettably we can only point out that there are a number of places nearby which rent out both kayaks and paddle boards by the half day, day or week.

Impressive property with quick access to all the local spots

  • 5 of 5

We inhabited the entire 2 portions of Pelican Cove. I was initially concerned about the fact that the smaller living quarters did not connect directly with the larger upstairs quarters, but do not give it a second thought. It's barely noticeable and with two teenage girls downstairs, I'm just as glad I didn't have to be with them 24/7! This property is as well cared for as any I have ever visited and the furnishings have been picked out with care and thought, that is obvious. There was more than enough room for 4 adults, 2 teenagers, a 5 year old and an 18 month old without worry of tripping over one another. The beds were comfortable, clean and while I always bring my own sheets, the linens were very nice. I usually spend every day at the beach but the pool out back was so nice that I spent a couple of days at the house! Location is perfect, minutes to Sanibel and other local beaches. I would especially recommend Lovers Key and some of the other state park beaches, they are beautiful. I found Jim and Louise friendly and easy to deal with, no problems at all. The property managers Vacasa were available for any other needs that we had and provided information on the area to supplement what Jim and Louise had already provided to us. All the recommendations from Jim and Louise were spot on, we were directed to locally flavored restaurants and I can't think of when I have eaten better food. All in all, it is the most relaxing vacation I have had in years and we cannot wait to go back! If you are on the fence about this property, I would urge you to rent it now, you will not be sorry. Trish

Owner's Response: Thank you Trish for such a full and positive review. Like you Lover's Key is probably our favourite beach with Bowmans beach (on Sanibel) running a close second.Good to know too that you appreciated our dining recommendations!

A beautiful house with a stunning view close to Fort Myers Beach

  • 4 of 5

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at Pelican Cove. As 2 families we took over both parts of the house - there was plenty of space for all including loungers, seating by the pool and in the Lanai. The upstairs is roomy and beds very comfortable. The kitchen/laundry is equipped with everything you need and there is an additional washer/dryer in the downstairs apartment. Lots of towels (inc beach towels) also provided. We had a couple of minor issues which were quickly sorted out by the owner and management company allowing us to enjoy our holiday. Both Jim and Brian were excellent to deal with. Fort Myers Beach is a 7 minute drive and costs less than $10 in an Uber. Sanibel and Captiva are also close by and the beaches are beautiful. The men in our party are golfers and visited a number of excellent courses in the area. If I were to offer any recommendations for improvements to the property it would be to provide a cover for the pool or investment in a large Lanai covering. However the house is beautiful and we would most definitely return and highly recommend.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. Whilst homes in the area do have caged pool areas we decided, having owned a home nearly with a pool cage for 15 years, that we prefer to be without one. Whilst a small downside is that, particularly on windy days, some debris can enter the pool this is more than outweighed by the spoiling of the view over the water from the house and also we found to be sitting within a pool cage to be slightly claustrophobic compared to being in the full open-air. We very much hope that you will revisit in the not too distant future.

Pelican Cove in May

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic spot, perfect house, lovely pool and all the toys you need can be rented locally at great prices for a great holiday. Cycled Sanibel, kayaked all over, saw manatees, loads of birds big and small and managed to rest a bit too!

Thanks Jim and Louise.

Great house & location!

  • 4 of 5

We loved our vacation & working with The Allpass’s went smoothly.

The house has everything you’d need for the week, which was great! The pictures don’t do the property justice. When you walk in the doors, the main part of the home is beautiful! The kids loved having their own space with the lower level, just wished we could’ve gotten to it from inside the house, but still worked out great for us.

We had a few issues, but I believe the manager of the home or the vacation rental company was ill the week we were there, so maybe the boss wasn’t around to make sure things were completed from the previous renters.

Overall, great home & would rent again.

Thanks for a great week!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that the minor issues you encountered were not put right straightaway as normally our management team respond immediately. As you mention our manager was unfortunately off sick when you made contact and being 'peak rental time' others in the team were totally stretched. I have made them aware and have been assured there will be no repeat. Overall though delighted that you were pleased with the home and had a great vacation.

Great place with great location

  • 5 of 5

This place is located just on the other side of the bridge connecting to the Fort Meyers Beach “main strip”. The house itself (we only rented the upstairs) is nice & located directly on a nice canal. The pool was nice & the hot tub was great for some of the cooler days & evenings we experienced. From the dock we saw dolphin. There are also manatee that like to hang out at the ends of each canal “cul de sac” which are situated at the ends right along the road as you enter or exit the neighborhood toward San Carlos Blvd. If you’ve never seen them, they are really slow and you might mistake them for rocks sticking out of the water.

The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and had lots of towels & basic toiletries to get you started. The kitchen was well equipped & comfortable for our party of 5.

If you have kids....The Naples zoo is a smaller but nice zoo with some great experiences. Zoomers is an arcade that has small rides, go karts, bumper boats & a bar for the parents. It was about 40 bucks each for our 11 & 9 year olds but good for a few hours on a day that was too cool for the beach. We went parasailing with a company right on Fort Meyers Beach just to the left of Times Square. Their parachute is a big yellow smiley face. They were great & the kids had a blast. It was around 150 for 2 kids for a two mile ride. Times Square & sunset in the evening is fun and a great chance to grab an ice cream & hang out.

Our hosts were awesome & commicated well all throughout the rental process. The home is well cared for, decorated tastefully, and we didn’t feel crowded. There’s lots of seating inside and out with plenty of lounge chairs & even an enclosed porch/patio if you prefer the shade.

I really hope we have the opportunity to come back here. It was a great rental. Thanks so much!
