Two bedroomed town house in the heart of Durham City
About Margaret Makepeace
We bought the property as a second home and use it ourselves for holidays as we love the area. We now live in Yorkshire but some of our family still live in Durham so we visit as much as we can. Since renting out the property as a holiday let we have met some wonderful people from far and wide and have really enjoyed the experience. If you decide to book a holiday in No. 21 we will do our best to make your stay enjoyable.

Why Margaret Makepeace chose Durham
We just love Durham City.
What makes this House unique
Being in the city means we can access the castle and cathedral, bars and restaurants without having to use the car. However a short drive away we have several attractions such as, Beamish Museum, Aukland Castleand Bowes Museum as well as the beautiful countryside around the weardale area. The vibrant city of Newcastle can be reached by train or bus.

Margaret's quaint terraced property was simply perfect for our needs (Champion's Cup at St James's Park Newcastle and exploring Durham). Right on the doorstep for everything - lovely traditional pub at the top of the road, Weatherspoons at the bottom! Our entire 4 night stay ran seamlessly from start to finish., Thank you Margaret and family.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. Glad No 21 helped to make your Rugby Weekend and discovering the beautiful sights of Durham more enjoyable. Thank you for leaving our place spotless. Hope to see you again sometime.
Another great stay
Another wonderful stay at this lovely house. The house is so well located, shops, bars and restaurants are minutes walk away and the cathedral and castle are another easy walk through town - Durham is just beautiful. Many thanks, we'll definitely be back x
Thank you for your kind words. So glad your return visit to Neville Street didn't disappoint. Hope to see you again soon.

Fantastic, well equipped Georgian property in the centre of town!
Thank you Margaret and Trish for a lovely stay in your perfectly equipped place (including a bath as well as shower and courtyard garden).Beautiful little Georgian House, so well positioned - pub up the road, Sainsbury’s and Tesco’s small stores round the corner. Walk into centre of town takes just 5 mins. Wine, choc, bread, butter, crisps and cookies in the Welcome Basket were really appreciated. Thoroughly recommend 21 Neville Street!
Thank you so much for your very kind comments. Yes, we are very lucky to have a house in such a great location. So pleased you enjoyed your time in Neville Street. Hope to see you again sometime.
Charming Durham Cottage
We had a lovely stay in Neville Street, very convenient for station and city. Thank you for the basket of provisions.
Thank you for your kind review. So pleased you enjoyed your stay in our cottage. Hope to see you again sometime.
very nice place in the center of Durham
It doesn't really get closer to the center of Durham than this place. It takes 5-10 min to walk to the castle, the cathedral and at most 15 to get to the train station. The bus station is just down the street. We stayed with 2 children and everything was great.
The only things to be aware of is that parking can be difficult (should be expected in the center of a city), but in addition to the great welcome basket we had 4 scratch cards worth a day of parking. And it can be loud at the evenings on the weekend. Since Durham is a student town this was expected as well (both kids slept with no problems).
Nothing would keep us from coming back.
Thanks Martin and family for your kind review. So glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes, we are very lucky having a town house in a great location in the beautiful city of Durham.
We would be very happy to have you stay again.
