Nantcol is one of a kind! A much loved family home. Move away from all your usual expectations for a minute and imagine a holiday where life suddenly gets a lot simpler! No mobile phone signal (although there is a land line telephone) No Internet, No central heating (though there are two open fires and electric radiators and an electric AGA). Sounds like fun? Well here is the best bit, there is no light pollution, and there is the most stunning of scenery, complete privacy and walks straight from the doorstep. Think for a moment about spending quality time with family and friends, enjoying each other’s company without the distractions of the 21st century. This may not be for everyone but for those looking to uncomplicated their lives, relax, recharge your batteries then Nantcol is the perfect place for you. Simply magical! Located at the end of a long winding road in the beautiful Nantcol Valley, at the foot of the Rhinog Mountains in Snowdonia, this gorgeous granite built 14th Century Welsh longhouse overlooks this dramatic and stunning scenery. Rest in blissful isolation, walk, birdwatch, paint, read a book or just simply relax in gorgeous surroundings.
Bedrooms: Three upstairs bedrooms. One bedroom has three single beds and a cot which is know as the hayloft, this is accessed through the second bedroom which is a double. The third bedroom, with two single beds is across the landing. There is an outside stone case leading to the hayloft.
Bathrooms: One upstairs bathroom with bath, loo and basin and two heated towel rails. There is also a second WC outside the back kitchen door.
Kitchen: A well equipped farmhouse kitchen with an electric stove, AGA, fridge/freezer, microwave and Washer/dryer. There is a large dining table in here too that will fit up to 8 to 10 people.
Sitting Room: The hub of the house. Large double ended sitting area with open fires at both ends. There is a TV for DVDs and CDs only and a smart music centre. There is no TV reception available. This is a cosy and social area.
Garden: The garden is enclosed and is approximately 1/2 an acre which is surrounded by dry stone walls. Beyond that you have the open countryside and mountains as your playground!
Heating: The house is heated in the main by the two coal fires so be prepared to manage them during your stay. There are electric radiators available too.
Parking: Plenty of parking at the side of the house.
Short Breaks: Available all year round but not in high season. The House is closed January and February.
Important: Please be aware that electricity is paid for separately. A meter reading is taken before and after and the amount due is deducted from the security deposit.
