Set among sand and maram grass dunes of Rhosneigr with the sea and beach beyond is The Warren. Located on the Anglesey Coastal Path you can walk onto the dunes and straight on to the beach from your door. The house is comfortable having undergone refurbishment by the current owners who have worked hard to keep many original features. There is an upstairs sitting room with a balcony with far reaching views of mainland North Wales and Rhoscolyn and also a second sitting room on the ground floor ensuring that there is lots of room for all guests, the perfect family house!
Rhosneigr is a very popular seaside town and you can see why. The beach here is a one of the best on the island attracting lovers of many different watersports like kite surfing, sailing and diving. On dry land too there is so much on offer with tennis, golf, horse riding and even the Anglesey race circuit is within a 15 min drive. If eating and drinking is your thing then Rhosneigr offers much in this department too. The Oystercatcher, Sullivan’s, Gon’s Thai Restaurant are all within walking distance. The village has good shops too with a Fat face (a badge of distinction for any seaside town these days!) and Gecko.
Bedrooms: There is a spacious double bedroom on the ground floor and a further three upstairs bedrooms – an adult bunk room, a twin room and a double with sea views.
Bathrooms: Upstairs is a family bathroom with bath, loo and sink. The modern shower room on the ground floor has a large walk-in shower with toilet and wash hand basin.
Kitchen: A large well appointed kitchen with a range cooker, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, microwave, washing machine and dryer.
Sitting Room: Very practical in its layout The Warren has two sitting rooms. One is on the ground floor, with doors out to the garden. There is a TV and DVD player in here, and an electric fire. The upstairs sitting room is great for just sitting and enjoying those wonderful views
Dining: The dining room is at the heart of the house. There is seating for all guests as well as a high chair for little people!
Garden: The gardens at the front of The Warren are completely enclosed and offer privacy and space to eat outside. The owners maintain a 10m strip which visitors are able to use for boule or just lounging in the sunshine. A large area of open land gives access to the sand dunes and beyond to the beach, a huge adventure for kids and dogs!.
Heating: Central heating
Parking: There is parking for two cars at the rear of the property, and more parking is available over the road.
We found the warren perfect for a relaxing week, comfortable, spacious (there were four of plus the dog) with everything you need for all weathers, we ate out for most of our stay as there are enough good places to eat and drink in nearby Rhosneigr, but when we decided to eat in the cooking facilities were more than adequate. We were blessed with sunny clear autumnal days, and the surrounding sand dunes and huge clean beaches are heaven if you're a dog owner (or owned by a dog!)
If you are thinking of booking a house in Rhosneigr - book this one! It was very spacious, tastefully decorated and ideally located for the beach and dog walking. The layout was excellent - with a lovely sitting room with a balcony upstairs in addition to a lounge downstairs. Fantastic views of the dunes and sea behind. Lovely large bedrooms with very comfy beds and lovely large kitchen with all amenities you can think of. Fantastic walks straight from the door onto the sand dunes and beautiful beach. The owner was extremely welcoming and greeted us at the door, telling us all we needed to know. A wonderful relaxing holiday in a beautiful ideally located house!
Our 2nd time at the warren and it didn't disappoint. Spacious, clean and well equipped with fabulous views. Only downside is there is absolutely nothing there when you arrive - other self catering places have had milk in the fridge and washing up liquid, tea, leftovers cupboard for example. Take everything you need but don't let that distract you, it's a wonderful place, ideal for our dog and baby too.
The inside of this property was a bit disappointing the beds were uncomfortable the upstairs lounge was OK but no TV or games ( electronic ) for the kids to play on rainy days. The kitchen was well equipped but cups, glasses and some of the cooking utensils had to be washed before use. The heating was hit and miss but the under floor heating in the downstairs shower room was excellent. The curtains were difficult and only partially covered the .lunge window. Overall the property could do with a reverb. I wouldn't return to this property but it didn't deter us from enjoying our holiday
The Warren is a lovely comfy home in an excellent location. Owners are next door ( and very friendly) should any problems arise.
Views are stunning from upstairs lounge, house is clean light and airy. Plenty of room.
This is the first time we have ever made a return trip to the same property for a holiday and it did not disappoint. The property is perfectly situated very close to the beach and also great expanses of heathland perfect if you enjoy walking and is very dog friendly. The beaches are superb miles long and virtually deserted which was heaven. The property is comfortable and relaxing with the owners friendly and helpful. Only downside would benefit from a bit of fresh paintwork but nothing major. Local amenities are all you could need for a quiet relaxing holiday loved it.
