Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Waterland - Backhouse

Perfect for a couple, family with children, or business travelers, also longterm

Mini fisherman's, traditonally built in wood, livingroom, sofabed for 2, kitchenette and bathroom downstairs, romantic bedroom in the attic. Ideal for couples, families of 4, or the business traveler who has seen to many hotels. The Cottage is comfortably and tastefully equiped, with floor heating and pleasant led-lighting. In front of the cottage there is enough space to sit outside. Up on the dike, you can enjoy the view on the harbour from the bench in front of the main house. In summer you can swim in the lake, in winter you may be able to skate on it!

The cottage is situated 'below dike', in the back yard of the main buidling. A couple of stone steps provide acces to the 'Backhouse'.

Durgerdam is a quiet place in winter. In summer it's frequented by cyclists and salingboats. In the evenings is quiet and peacefull again.

There are four options to get to the cottage from Amsterdam (and back):

1. By car, about 10 minutes to Amsterdam Centre.

2. Busride from Amsterdam Central Station to Durgerdam, approx. 30 minutes.

2. Electric Tramride from Central Station to Park & Ride Zeeburg (7 minutes) plus a nice half our walk to the cottage, over the bridge on the river IJ, and the old sea dike (you wil then also as good pass by the excellent "Farm" Supermarket Landmarkt in Schellingwoude.

3. You could rent bikes, from the cottage to dead centre Amsterdam takes about half an hour.

During the weekend, the busride (1) does not go all the way. When we are arround, we can always pick you up at the P&R.

We suggest you download the Dutch Public Tranport App callen 9292, to plan your travels.

Should you decide to rent a car - which is nice for exploring the green Waterland and villages and towns arround Amsterdam, you can park very cheap at the tramstop at P&R Zeeburg for going into town: 1 euro when you set out later than 10 AM, and pay the parking fee by using your tramticket.

There's a a free parking space available near the cottage.

We love to help you with all kins of practical things, like transport, "must sees" and shopping or groceries. When possible we assist you in renting a bike or car. Besides all that, we like to offer you all the privacy and comfort you want.

Durgerdam is at a stone's throw from the Amsterdam city centre, but is also a very good starting point for trips by bike, boat, train, tram, motorbike or car in the beautiful province of North-Holland.

Peace and calm on the outskirts of Amsterdam

  • 5 of 5

Situated on the outskirts of Amsterdam, Durgerdam is ideally situated to visit both the centre of Amsterdam and surrounding areas of North Holland. Local transport links to Amsterdam are convenient but to explore further afield a car (plus bike) give greater flexibility.

The Achterhuis ('Backhouse') is a charming little cottage with everything you need for a comfortable holiday, perfect for the two of us to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday. The property was as described and spotless, and Jaap was a perfect host on arrival. We would thoroughly recommend staying here and would like to return another time.

Thank you Jaap & Kim - a splendid holiday location!

It really was a pleasant stay in Jaap&Kims cosy little house.

  • 5 of 5

We have been there as a family with 4 adults and this without problems. The house was very clean and is equipped with everything you need and not overloaded with things you don't need. For a vacation it's really convenient. During the day you discover Amsterdam as a big city and in the evening and morning with this house, you have your quiet place in the nature just a few meters fom the water. All the time before and during the stay it was a friendly and enjoyable contact. Thank you for everything!

dépaysement garanti

  • 5 of 5

Williams

vacances: calme, nature et jolies rencontres

  • 5 of 5

Comodo e confortevole

  • 4 of 5

Cottage comodo, molto pulito e ordinato. Supermercato nelle vicinanze ben fornito.

Urlaub im Grünen aber nahe der City

  • 4 of 5
