About Fiona Hunter
My husband and I work in General Practice - he is a GP and I am a management consultant. Our cabin is located in the grounds of our weekend home in Braemar. During the week we are just one hour away, in Aberdeen. We love to spend time in Braemar and take advantage of the many activities available as well as a regular programme of cultural events and festivals during the year.
Fiona Hunter purchased this Cabin in 2005
Why Fiona Hunter chose Braemar
When we bought this property, we were astounded by the garden and the opportunities presented by having a separate "guest house", which is now our rental cabin. We very much enjoy welcoming people to our property.
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin in ideally suited in Braemar village but with excellent access to all surrounding areas, especially if you are keen on walking or ski-ing. There are several shops and restaurants in Braemar, all within about 400 yards of the cabin. The cabin is completely independent of our own, older-style traditional cottage so guests are able to come and go in complete freedom and enjoy their stay.
We thank guests for not smoking in the cabin. Guests should take their own precautions to ensure that children and animals are kept at a safe distance from the pond. Although that part of the garden is fenced off at the cabin, there is no fencing around the pond itself.

Lovely lodge, beautiful Braemar
We had a fabulous time the lovely village of Braemar!! The lodge was really warm, comfortable and well equipped for everyday use! The bedrooms were a great size and the bed was lovely to sleep on! The outside space was exceptional with beautiful views of the mountains and wild life. We had 12” of snow and this made the whole experience even more exciting!! Fiona was amazing, making sure we had everything we needed and keeping in touch with our travel plans, even dropping off some supplies because we were not arriving til 11pm. The village had everything you need too, lovely tea rooms, a butcher, pharmacy and a host of coffee shops and gift shops. We will definitely be coming back again!! 😀

Thank you so much for your comments! We do want our guests to feel everything was what they hoped for. We loved meeting everyone and hope we can welcome you back one day.
A lovely experience
Convenient,easy and informed
We had a lovely few days in this great property. Very well equipped in a great location - perfect for walking straight from the house, or equally strolling into town for tea after a day of exploring. The cabin has its own private decked area set in the pretty main garden. Our girls loved the garden, and we saw lots of wildlife.
Cosy and well situated cottage
We enjoyed staying in this comfortable and cosy cottage, exploring the village and the surroundings. Very friendly and welcoming hosts.
Brilliant location, very comfortable cabin with all the essentials, terrific hosts, will return.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. We are delighted you had a great time and that the cabin suited you. Do come back!
Braemar is a great setting for a summer or winter holiday in the mountains. Loads of outdoor activities year-round, lots of wildlife and interesting places to visit both nearby and a little further afield in the Highlands
