Sleeping and bathing
You'll sleep well in The Old Fish Cellar's sumptuous hand-made, luxury king size bed adorned with superior goose feather and down bedding, and ultra soft Egyptian cotton linens, with the addition of traditional wooden window shutters throughout making early nights and lazy lie-ins all the more tempting.
Just off the bedroom is the en suite. Divided by a great sliding steel Fish Store door, this stylish space, complete with reclaimed geometric tiles, is the ultimate wet room. Add an air-injected rain head shower, underfloor heating and luxurious soft cotton towels and it's the perfect place to unwind after long coastal walks.
Steeped in mystery and myth, this studio formally known as "Who Knows" once functioned as a fish cellar, where mariners would come to process their catch. Now 300 years on, a mix of clever craftsmanship and exquisite interiors has transformed this industrial cellar into a unique Boutique Retreat.
Whilst modest in size, this compact retreat has been well thought out, creating a true sense of space in luxurious surroundings. As one of our most creative and stylish spaces, it's a must visit whether you're looking for a dynamic base to explore Mousehole and West Cornwall from or somewhere to bunker down in the winter for some R&R.
My husband and I relocated to Mousehole in 2012 from London, where we both had busy careers in the Television Industry, myself as a Series Producer / Director and my husband as a Director of Photography.
Our move to Mousehole was one of the heart, as we had spent many years visiting the harbour town and wishing one day we could live here.
I now split my time between television work and interior styling, and my husband continues his work in the television industry and as a interiors and action photographer.

The Old Fish Cellar, is almost 300 years old, and for the last 40 years sat derelict and uninhabited. Formally known as "Who Knows", this name summarises the mystery and intrigue that has surrounded this property for locals and holiday makers alike. In fact, the property was once an old fish cellar, where fishermen would bring their catch.
The Old Fish Cellar is positioned right in the heart of this harbour town, just a minutes walk to the harbour itself, and the same to restaurants, pubs and galleries. You couldn't be more central.
What a great little spot this is. We were a couple looking to get away from our hectic lives and this was perfect for it. Small enough to feel like a little bolt hole away from the world, but well considered in its design, enough to make you feel like you're walking into somebody's creation. Fairly pricey in comparison to others, but worth every penny for the character. We were zombies by the time we arrived so weren't really into much other than sleeping, but Camilla gave us all the information we needed for a great stay. We also drew some pictures in the guest book.
Mousehole is a small picturesque harbour town in West Cornwall, England. Famously described as "the loveliest village in England" by the famous poet Dylan Thomas, it is a maze of winding alleys, with artists galleries, cafes and restaurants. With it's own small protected sandy beach it's great for kayaking, sailing, fishing, rock pooling and the beautiful coastline offers stunning coastal walks.
