Well appointed apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms

Very private top floor modern apartment with two bedrooms (one double and one twin) and two bathrooms (one en-suite). Furnished to the very highest standards with brand-new fittings throughout. Central lounge/dining area with large balcony looking inland to the mountains and a modern kitchen with everything you need for a self-catering stay including free Wi-Fi. Second dining area leads to a completely private sun- terrace set in the traditional red-tiled roof.

The apartment is a short walk from the "village" of Garajau, with lots of cafes, restaurants and take-aways. Continue through the village and you end up at the famous statue of Cristo Rei, where you can take a cable car down the pebble beach, where there are more facilities.

This property has been certified to the highest safety standards under the Portuguese "Alojamanto Local" regime covering tourist accommodation.

Other than being hard to find, everything about the apartment was great. It was remodeled to a high standard, large apartment, great views and deck, intro food, large shower. Great location, walkable restaurants, pharmacy, grocery. Super local neighborhood. Parking garage.

Heads up; Manager did have an add-on cost paid in cash on site. Regardless of amount or reason for this charge, it should be have been included in the VRBO quote or in the contract.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the five stars! However, we would beg to differ that the apartment is hard to find, as there are two turnings between it and the airport. The additional charge is a local eco-tax applied by the Santa Cruz municipality to fund various environmental projects - as it is only €1 per adult per day, but only for the first five days, it is impossible to configure in the HomeAway "extras".

Fantastic apartment

We have only just arrived back after a wonderful holiday in Garajau.

The apartment was first class and had everything you could wish for.

Peter answered questions promptly and even arranged our taxi transfers.

We will return to Madeira next year as we fell in love with the island and very friendly people.

The apartment was has described first class in our opinion would certainly recomend it ,

We hired a car to see the island motorway very easy to drive on abit hilly when on minor roads visit to Monte with a tabbogan run is a must very reasonable to eat out ,the apartment was excellent the agent peter was excellent gave us directions from airport easy 15minutes and straightforward the owner also excellent and very easy going supplied a few basics items when we arrive. Garajau is good base to see the island

Home from home

Excellent booking communication and met promptly at apartment and shown around by owners. Beautiful new apartment, tastefully decorated with quality furnishings and all home comforts provided. Loads of towels, bedding, kitchen equipment etc.

The location is great for an authentic Madeira holiday away from the large tourist hotels. There are a number of typical Madeiran eateries within 5 minutes walk - particularly worthy of mention is Cafe Neptune where you can get a lovely meal with wine and coffee for £20 for two.

The bus service into Funchal takes around 20 mins and runs approx half hourly, so getting around the island without a car is not a problem. There are a few local places to visit within walking distance - Canico, Canico de Baixo and Cristo Rei statue and cable car.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone looking for a restful holiday on the beautiful island of Madeira.
