Why Mr C Ferns chose Rogač
We came to the area on a sailing holiday in 2003 and fell in love with the place. In particular we anchored over night in Rogac bay which is the bay that our apartment now overlooks. We looked at places on Brac, Hvar and Solta but this was the only place we found that wasn't in need of major works.
What makes this Apartment unique
Location, location, location! The peace and tranquillity to be found here is fantastic. Solta is quieter than the other islands with a more local feel and yet has the easiest access to Split. Since the apartment(s) are only a 5 minute walk from the port there's no need to have a car.
Minimum charge of €250 so contact me for a price for stays of less than 7 nights .

A place with a soul
The apartmant is great, it has everything that you need for a perfect vacation. A lot of space, full and clean equipment and great view from terace, idealic for morning breakfest or nice glass of vine in the evening. You can see that the owners are living there and there for the place has that special comford feeling. We even had our bikes with us and we could place them behind the house. The apartment has air condition which is perfect for hot summer days. The only thing that we have missed was mosquito protection on the windovs.
Location is perfect and quiet , you have everything near by, 15 minutes walk from market place in a vilage Grohote, near Rogač . We parked our car for 14 days and we used only our bikes and feet. And that was the whole point, to rest our minds and tougts for a few days and this place gave us exactly what we needed.
Thanks for your kind words Grega, we're glad you enjoyed your stay.
Lovely time away
We had a lovely time in Grohote. The apartment was well equipped for a family of 4 and a good size for 4, I think 6 might be a squeeze but is possible. The view is spectacular any time of the day. The walk to the apartment is quite steep, but you get the view so worth the effort. The walk to the shop is very steep for the first bit, we didn't see the need for a car as we like walking and being outside. There is a nice children play area close to the Studenac shop with a bar and outside seats next to it. The market and fresh produce was a winner for us and we enjoyed doing our shopping there. If you want to wind down and have peace this is the perfect holiday destination. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Thank you Ian for taking the time to write a review. We're so glad you enjoyed our little hideaway!

first visit to Croatia
We had a really lovely 11 days on Solta - absolutely enhanced by the wow factor view from the apartment. Being able to sit outside and watch the world from this lovely vantage point made sure that the stress of life back home was melted quickly.
The apartment is spacious enough for 4 people, is comfortably laid out, a bit of a squeeze in the kitchen but this is well-equipped and Colin responded to all our enquiries and questions promptly.
Good access to quiet beaches, great cafe and restaurants in Rogac and all we needed at the market and shops in nearby Grohote.
Thanks Katherine, we're so pleased you enjoyed our little hide-away!

Little piece of paradise, indeed
We spent two and a half weeks at Villa Morski Vuk. Would have loved to stay longer - lots of time to swim, read, sleep, eat good food...
The house is within walking distance to the ferry harbour and marina. You need to go up a very steep (!) hill and get paid off with a panoramic view of the Adriatic coast, the city of Split and the mountains behind when sitting on the terrace. Just a few minutes down a path, there is a great bay for swimming. Our kids loved snorkeling all day.
The apartment is well equipped and was very clean. It is used by the owners, too; so that way it has a personal touch and it feels rather like staying at a friend's house than an impersonal holiday apartment.
For a summer like the one we experienced (36-38 degrees), we were glad that the apartment had air-conditioning in the living room.
The island is beautiful and quiet (not packed with tourists as Split is) and has got to offer lovely bays for swimming. We tried several restaurants across the island and the food was always of high quality. The freshest fish was served at the restaurant Solta, just 300 meters away from the apartment.
When there, don't miss the rosé wine and olive oil from OPG Kastelanac Vicko in Gornje Selo, a family vineyard on the island.
During our vacation we used the Catamaran ferry, the car ferry and also the speed boat taxi - all good ways to get around. We rented a car (in Split) for part of the time. The boat taxi is definitely the most convenient and relaxing way to and from the airport: it took only about an hour from the apartment to the terminal. You can make bookings via internet (we used AdriaticaTransfer and SugamanTours for a speed boat trip).
Thank you, Colin for sharing this little piece of paradise!
Thanks for your very kind words, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay.
Please come again!
no wifi, no tv, a piece of cord instead of the handle of the fridge
dusty and dirty, the drain of the shower was blocked
near to the ferry, great view over the bay
This guest found himself evicted from another property and needed a place to stay at the very last minute. We told him there was no wifi as it had only just been installed and we didn't yet have the password for the router, the TV scart cable had been pulled out and the last guests had left a matter of hours before he arrived without notice. A quite unreasonable review which does not represent Villa Morski Vuk at all and is very disappointing for us to read. It leads us to wonder why he had found himself without somewhere to stay at short notice.
Relaxing week on the island
A lovely, well equipped apartment with a great view from the terrace over the harbour. A great place if you want a quiet week away from the crowds. Solta itself is enchanting. I would recommend the apartment highly.
The small island of Solta is a surprising oasis of peace and tranquillity, given it's convenient location just a few kilometres from Split.
For lots of info on the Island, have a look at its web, please ask us for link.
Split itself is an amazing Roman city. The main shopping/restaurant area is actually within the walls of the old Roman Palace. Without doubt the main attraction in this area is the sailing. With 1800 islands to explore, most with quiet, secluded anchorages, it is one of the most beautiful places in the world to go sailing, and there are many charter companies in the area. English is widely spoken, especially amongst the younger generation. There is a small harbour just a few minutes walk from the apartment, so representing an unrivalled opportunity to partake of a wonderful land-based sailing holiday! (Owner is a yacht skipper). Alternatively, you may wish to sit back with your favourite tipple and enjoy the stunning scenery!
Other Activities: Just about anything you require can be hired from Split. This is an ideal location as a land base for a sailing holiday.
