Detached bungalow in a private setting in this wonderful part of Exmoor

Oare Water Cottage sleeps four people in total. Entry is via the conservatory/boot room, which is an excellent sun trap and the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon cup of tea - even when the weather is not so good! Continue through the kitchen into the large living room, made up of comfortable seating and a dining area with French door leading onto a patio and the garden. There two bedrooms - one double and one twin - and two bathrooms, one with a jacuzzi bath and the other with a shower.

Beautifully located, small but well-equipped, nice garden

Rhis was our first visit to Exmoor and we were blown away by its beauty. Both the coast and the countryside are just stunning. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable, although the rooms are quite small. The cookies and fresh flowers provided a nice personal touch.

Car: necessary

Malmsmead is a hamlet on Exmoor, however you are be able to purchase treats and take-away food from the Cafe down beside the river just beyond the packhorse bridge. The Cafe is also licensed so you can enjoy a couple of drinks with a meal, all within walking distance.

Please note that the Cafe is closed during the winter season (October to Easter).

Malmsmead is approximately 7 miles from both Lynton and Porlock.

The village of Porlock has three pubs, two grocery shops, a traditional local butcher, Post Office, chemist, cash machine, petrol station, hardware shop, visitor centre and a range of independent restaurants, shops and tea rooms. Lynton is a small town in the opposite direction and boasts similar amenities, both well worth a visit.

Minehead is approximately 12 miles from the cottage (beyond Porlock).

Here you will find the larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Tesco and Morrison's are both situated on the outskirts of the town and have longer opening hours), most major high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops throughout the town.

For meals or a pint, the nearest choice is The Staghunters Inn in Brendon and The Culbone Inn (en-route to Porlock) which is locally renowned for excellent food. Lynton and Lynmouth also has a good selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants.
