About The Owner

I'm Katie, married to Gareth. Former townies, we moved to our home in the countryside in 2014 because we wanted to raise our family in peaceful, green, rural surroundings.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2014

Why The Owner chose Balcombe

Lavender Cottage is next door to our home, and we love this place because it's so green, quiet and so close to nature.

What makes this cottage unique

We love life on the Lane - from the animals who live on the Farm nearby, to the green trees and woodlands which we love to explore, the beauty of wildflowers, and all the nature on our doorstep - rabbits, deer, foxes, badgers, owls, buzzards, pheasants to name but a few visitors.

Great! Quiet, secluded and peaceful!

We were super impressed by how clean the place was and how neatly everything had been kept. Katie was very very helpful with any queries we had and left us to have a lovely week. Couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Perfectly decorated cottage with attention to detail. Lots to do in the area. Hikes and visits to towns. The English coastline and the woods are all close by. Nice quiet environment.

Fitted our needs.

  • 4 of 5

Very much what we needed for a vacation cottage near our daughter. The space and items supplied were sufficient. The only negative we noticed was the carpets were somewhat soiled, but all in all, the cottage fitted our needs. Nice quiet area and we may use this cottage again when we go back to visit. The welcome basket was a very nice touch.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review of the Cottage. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope you will come back again. Thank you for drawing our attention to the carpet. The Cottage is hoovered and cleaned thoroughly between guests but in light of your comments we will arrange to have the carpets steam cleaned.

Lavender Cottage

Does what it says on the tin! A very relaxing well presented and organised stay. Shame we didn't have decent weather, we didn't quite make use of the garden. But some nice places to visit locally.
