A large, four bedroom seaside, family, holiday cottage in Ramsgate, Kent with a sea view from every bedroom.
The Granville is a Grade II listed elegant holiday cottage built into the cliffs in Ramsgate, with direct access to the sandy beach and makes the perfect family holiday, beside the seaside. The property has been beautifully restored with sympathy to the building's past but with a dash of elegance. You enter the property into the open plan lounge diner with woodburning stove and large dining table. There is no TV at the property but there is Wifi, so you can live stream TV if you bring a laptop away with you. There is a turntable with a selection of vinyl for your enjoyment and an Ipod dock. Off the lounge area there are steps up to the galley style kitchen and a doorway to the caves into the cliffs, set up as a games room with a football table, books and board games. The first floor has a double bedroom, with ensuite shower and balcony with sea views. A twin bunk room and another shower room. Stairs up lead to the master suite, with double bedroom, balcony with sea views, a wet room and a bathroom with roll top bath. There is a small meditation room, where you can practice yoga or just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. The next staircase leads to another double bedroom with a single bunk for a small child wishing to sleep with their parents. This room is not suitable for someone with limited mobility, as to access the bed; you need to climb a sloping ladder. Outside you have a built in BBQ, concrete dining table and driftwood seating. The beach is a minute's stroll from the front door and is sandy. There are four bicycles for your use and all kind of beach paraphernalia. There is free parking outside the property for the duration of your stay.
The Granville is a gentle fifteen minute stroll from the centre of the town, with its cosmopolitan feel. A bustling harbour with boat trips to spot seals or explore the coast or try your hand at sea fishing. Elegant architecture, pavement cafes and waterfront bars make this seaside town a pleasant holiday destination. Further along the coast, you have Charles Dickens' favourite Kent seaside town of Broadstairs and Margate with the Turner Contemporary Gallery and various museums to explore. The town of Canterbury with its cathedral is a short drive or train trip away and a lovely way to spend a day. Those wishing to explore the local wildlife should visit Sandwich and Pegwell Bay nature reserve, known for its bird watching, wild flowers and butterflies. London is only 1.5 hours away by train, making it a perfect destination for a day trip or maybe to take in a London show.
