ESTATE AND FARM LIFE.- With more than 600 acres of land, the estate carries a herd of Mallorquin sheep, wild and tame goats and the grounds are dotted with carob trees, and thousands of ancient olive trees that produce wonderful oil. The farm also produces home grown fodder for the sheep, has a lush green garden, a small orchard with fruit trees and many grape vines. In autumn, there is an abundance of wild mushrooms, including the areas famous picornell variety. Farm life has its own rhythms and delights, such as baking bread, or roasting lamb or goat in the great outdoor ovens that are part of the working patio, and, of course there are the seasonal activities and fiestas. The highpoint of the fiesta season is the olive oil harvest where the olives are gathered and pressed in the ancient Tafona to produce the farms own delicious oil. Guests can watch or indeed participate in this tradition which has not changed for centuries.
VIEWS AND GROUNDS.- Pedruxella’s mountains, forests, farming terraces and fields are ideal for hiking, biking, bird watching or hunting. There are hiking trails that lead to the top of the estate and onto the mountain ridge offering views of Mallorca’s north eastern tip which stretches out into the Mediterranean. The estate has sweeping views over the Val d’en March and enjoys uninterrupted views of the Puig Tomir mountain and the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, which was recently awarded World Heritage status by the United Nations. From the Atalaya view point, which towers above the main house, it is possible to see the Tramuntana range in its entirety and enjoy spectacular views out to sea. The views are complimented by the network of ancient dry stone walls, terraced hills peppered with olive and carob trees and great oak forests that form part of the estate. The house is set amidst beautiful grounds and gardens, with two large lawns bordered with roses, lantana, margaritas, plumbago and many other colourful flowers as well as lavender, sage, and rosemary. Being well above sea level but close to the sea, a gentle breeze blows keeping the estate cooler than the valley below, even on warmest of summer days. In winter, the house and gardens benefit from the suns warmth all day long due to the southern orientation of the property. Summers are spent in the cool courtyards, eating, reading and playing board games; the patios and front cobbled terrace providing ample room for larger get-togethers. There is truly something for everyone. Guests often go their separate ways during the day and then meet up later for a relaxing swim and dinner.
One of the highlights of the estate is the organic fruit and vegetable garden. Irrigated by an ancient aqueduct, it is a Garden of Eden for those who enjoy eating fresh, nutritious food picked hours before. Adjacent to the garden are the chickens who provide fresh eggs for the house. Together with the livestock on the estate, meals are often entirely self sufficient.
Of course, there is plenty to do without leaving the grounds: hiking, badminton, ping pong, boules and other games; or perhaps cooking a Mediterranean inspired lunch or dinner (on request) using what the estate provides. The truly adventurous might like to accompany farm manager goat hunting, which is done in the traditional manner.

The Old Town is a perfect place to see the ‘authentic’ Mallorca. The centre is a maze of narrow paved streets, the main market square, perhaps the most charming in all of Mallorca, oozes with history and tradition and is the central meeting place for locals and visitors alike, and venue to the colourful weekly Sunday morning market. A place to catch up on the gossip, share tapas and drinks with friends, to write, to paint, to photograph….there is always something going on.
The town has more than its fair share of architectural monuments including five beautiful churches, a museum, cloisters, and many stunning privately owned homes within its network of shady streets, which if you are lucky enough to get a peek into, reveal pools and fabulous patio gardens.
The town is lively all year round, with charming boutiques, cool bars and a vast choice of good restaurants. Culture runs deep here and Pollensa’s past is full of legends and ancient history. The town calendar is full of important celebrations, Catholic, pagan and historical, processions, mock battles etc. Without doubt, Pollensa is one of the most beautiful areas in the whole of Mallorca and remains a perpetual inspiration to the creative.
An International Music Festival is held here every summer, and a very popular Wine Fair in spring (Fira del Vi) and the town is home to an abundance of Art Galleries, artists and craftsmen (ceramics and textile).
The ideal starting point for many walks, Pollensa is flanked by the Tramuntana peaks and the magical mount ‘Puig Maria’, emblematic throughout the ages and distinguishable from far and wide.
Also cycling, golf, tennis, climbing, yoga and an unending list of sporting / relaxing activities are available. With a successful fusion of modern times and roots that are strongly connected with nature and the land, this is a very special corner of the world within your reach.
