We bought Villa La Palma primarily for our own use in the summer. We enjoy renting it out and sharing this wonderful place with others. We hope you will enjoy our home away from home.
Villa La Palma purchased this villa in 2015
The property is located near our some of our family. Before purchasing this property we viewed over 15 other properties in the area. The moment we viewed 'Villa La Palma' we knew we found our dream home because of the views it offers, the location is within easy driving distance to the beach and town.
Having a beautiful large swimming pool with wonderful views is very special. There is a games room, table tennis, badminton and swing ball for kids and there are a number of terraces. The villa is private and secluded but not remote. Gandia is a very short drive away and has all you need in terms of shopping and wonderful beaches. The valley the villa is situated in is beautiful and the views are wonderful. A very relaxing place to be.
We booked this house to get some Autumn sunshine and chill...and it did not disappoint. Great location, clean, very well equipped - a real home away from home. It was made extra special when the Spanish neighbour gave us kilos of ripe figs. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property - great value for money.
The villa has everything you need for a lovely holiday. The owners have really thought about everything. Spacious and very clean. My family would happily stay in this villa again. The pool was great and many hours were spent by it and in it.
The only faults we came up with were the lights did not work on the stairs to the side of the villa and the small double bed is really really hard but that would suit some people just not us (we are all softies).
My family had a great time exploring Gandia and surrounding areas. Lovely part of Spain and a fabulous villa. What more could anyone want. Happy holidays to all.
Great view, nice house, beautiful pool and a lovely Spanish place, Gandia, 10 minutes away.
The villa is off the beaten track but on arrival the views were amazing overlooking orange groves with the mountains as a backdrop. We were pleasantly surprised that driving into Ghandia for the major supermarkets took only 15 minutes and there are fantastic beaches 20 mins. away with a plentiful choice of resteraunts. The villa is very well maintained and for the 6 of us we had ample space. The pool was a great hit with the family, its a very good size with spacious terracing around it with plenty of sun loungers. There were a few minor problems if the first few days but were very quickly resolved by 'Raymond' the caretaker, excellent English and lives locally, and he also gave us some very useful advice and suggestions about the local area. Great stay, beautiful area and would definitely return!
We had a fantastic week in this wonderful house and surroundings. The facilities were great and we all enjoyed cooling off in the wonderful pool. It was great to have a barbecue too. The house has a great location, great view and is close to a nice town - Gandia and not too far from the sea too. Warmly recommend this villa.
We stayed for 2 weeks at this beautiful villa. The views are wonderful as you sit on the terrace in the morning sun and then watching the sunset over the sierra in the evening. The villa is very comfortable, and well equipped for families and groups, though we did sit outside most of the time either on the terrace or by the pool! In the car you are not far from beaches and more secluded rocky coves, perfect for swimming and snorkelling . We loved this area of Spain and exploring new places but to be honest with the perfect weather it was hard to leave the villa for too long.
The villa is situated on a hill overlooking the orange groves in the picturesque rural setting of Marchuquera, yet it is only 10 - 15 minutes drive to the nearby well-equipped city of Gandia. The beach is around 15 min drive.
Villa La Palma in its quiet, secluded setting is matched by a great range of activities and facilities both in the immediate locality and slightly beyond. The wider region is rich in history and culture.

Most of Gandia's city centre is full with palm tree promenades with bars, restaurants and shops along, it is a wonderful place for a shopping tour. Gandia has all the shops expected of a city, indoor shopping complexes with cinemas, Calle Major and streets off have around 800 different shops.

PLACES OF INTEREST in Gandia:
Gandia was an important commercial and cultural centre during the 15th and 16th centuries and has been home to many important poets and writers including Joanot Martorell. However, it is possibly best known for the Borgia family, who were an infamous prominent noble family during the Renaissance.
In Gandia you will find fantastic examples of Spain’s history, most notably: The Ducal Palace, Gandia Cathedral, Passeig de les Germanies (a tree lined promenade with fountains and benches), Palace of Santo Duque (Spanish national monument), Collegiate Basilica of Santa Maria, Borja Palace, Church La Colegiata at the plaza de la constitucion and the old university building Antigua Universidad.

There are many very good restaurants available in Gandia. A typical dish of the region is fideuà where noodles substitute rice and are cooked with fish and shellfish.
BEACHES of Gandia
Gandia has many beaches 11 km to choose from, the sand is golden and the sea is beautiful and clear they have been awarded BLUE FLAG status for many years.
OLIVA:
A little bit to the south of Gandia you find the city of Oliva (20 minutes) with an old town centre. If you are looking for less busy beaches you will find these here. Oliva is where the Spanish go on holiday and is even less touristy and the beaches are never very busy. Terranova beach in Oliva is one of our favourites, long with soft white sand and not crowded at all.
Other towns close by:
JAVEA:
This town has a good beach front but is a bit more 'touristy'. If you want to eat Fish& Chips you will find it here.

This is a very pretty town with lovely shops and cafes on tree lined streets.

Short drive away. Suggest you visit the town centre. There are many shops museums and churches. Aquarium the Bioparc - a sort of zoo meets safari park but really well laid out and not a cage in sight.
