Without doubt one of the main attractions of the property is its situation within its own spacious grounds. There is ample terracing and a very private large swimming pool (10m x 5m). The front terrace and balcony receives the first sun of the day so breakfast can be enjoyed overlooking abundant orange groves and distant hills. The swimming pool receives sun most of the day. In case the sun gets too much, or on a cloudy day, inside there is a large living room / dining area. The bedrooms are generously proportioned and the kitchen modern and well equipped. There is an outside barbecue area and outdoor shower. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Villa La Palma in this idyllic setting and for those who want to stretch their legs beyond the villa there are a variety of activities on hand. There are also many places to visit around the villa. Toys for the pool are provided for children to enjoy.

Gem of a property

We booked this house to get some Autumn sunshine and chill...and it did not disappoint. Great location, clean, very well equipped - a real home away from home. It was made extra special when the Spanish neighbour gave us kilos of ripe figs. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property - great value for money.

Brilliant villa where everything you need is there. Welcome pack best I've ever had..

  • 4 of 5

The villa has everything you need for a lovely holiday. The owners have really thought about everything. Spacious and very clean. My family would happily stay in this villa again. The pool was great and many hours were spent by it and in it.

The only faults we came up with were the lights did not work on the stairs to the side of the villa and the small double bed is really really hard but that would suit some people just not us (we are all softies).

My family had a great time exploring Gandia and surrounding areas. Lovely part of Spain and a fabulous villa. What more could anyone want. Happy holidays to all.

Stunning location and spacious.

  • 5 of 5

The villa is off the beaten track but on arrival the views were amazing overlooking orange groves with the mountains as a backdrop. We were pleasantly surprised that driving into Ghandia for the major supermarkets took only 15 minutes and there are fantastic beaches 20 mins. away with a plentiful choice of resteraunts. The villa is very well maintained and for the 6 of us we had ample space. The pool was a great hit with the family, its a very good size with spacious terracing around it with plenty of sun loungers. There were a few minor problems if the first few days but were very quickly resolved by 'Raymond' the caretaker, excellent English and lives locally, and he also gave us some very useful advice and suggestions about the local area. Great stay, beautiful area and would definitely return!

Villa Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic week in this wonderful house and surroundings. The facilities were great and we all enjoyed cooling off in the wonderful pool. It was great to have a barbecue too. The house has a great location, great view and is close to a nice town - Gandia and not too far from the sea too. Warmly recommend this villa.

Fabulous villa with stunning breathtaking views

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 2 weeks at this beautiful villa. The views are wonderful as you sit on the terrace in the morning sun and then watching the sunset over the sierra in the evening. The villa is very comfortable, and well equipped for families and groups, though we did sit outside most of the time either on the terrace or by the pool! In the car you are not far from beaches and more secluded rocky coves, perfect for swimming and snorkelling . We loved this area of Spain and exploring new places but to be honest with the perfect weather it was hard to leave the villa for too long.

The villa is situated on a hill overlooking the orange groves in the picturesque rural setting of Marchuquera, yet it is only 10 - 15 minutes drive to the nearby well-equipped city of Gandia. The beach is around 15 min drive.

Villa La Palma in its quiet, secluded setting is matched by a great range of activities and facilities both in the immediate locality and slightly beyond. The wider region is rich in history and culture.

Gandia is one of the largest cities in the area and has been a hotspot for Spanish tourists (mainly from Madrid) for years, but is becoming more popular with foreign visitors as its charms become better known.

Gandia Playa (Beach) offers 5.8 kilometres of beautiful blue flag beaches, Gandia’s beaches are truly magnificent as these have a width of 150 meters with beautiful sand - lots of space!. Gandia Playa is also home to the areas nightclubs and disco bars. There is also beach dedicated to dogs.

SHOPPING in Gandia:

Most of Gandia's city centre is full with palm tree promenades with bars, restaurants and shops along, it is a wonderful place for a shopping tour. Gandia has all the shops expected of a city, indoor shopping complexes with cinemas, Calle Major and streets off have around 800 different shops.

Just a 10 minute drive away from Villa La Palma - on the outskirts of Gandia are all major supermarkets (Mercadona, Carrefour, Lidl or Aldi just to name a few).

Markets in Gandia

Gandia has a variety of markets throughout the year. They have a typical market on Saturday mornings at the bottom of the Paseo.

Gandia was an important commercial and cultural centre during the 15th and 16th centuries and has been home to many important poets and writers including Joanot Martorell. However, it is possibly best known for the Borgia family, who were an infamous prominent noble family during the Renaissance.

In Gandia you will find fantastic examples of Spain’s history, most notably: The Ducal Palace, Gandia Cathedral, Passeig de les Germanies (a tree lined promenade with fountains and benches), Palace of Santo Duque (Spanish national monument), Collegiate Basilica of Santa Maria, Borja Palace, Church La Colegiata at the plaza de la constitucion and the old university building Antigua Universidad.

The Royal Monastery of Sant Jeroni de Cotalba Alfauir is very close to Villa La Palma – nice bike ride or a long walk.

There are many very good restaurants available in Gandia. A typical dish of the region is fideuà where noodles substitute rice and are cooked with fish and shellfish.

BEACHES of Gandia

Gandia has many beaches 11 km to choose from, the sand is golden and the sea is beautiful and clear they have been awarded BLUE FLAG status for many years.

A little bit to the south of Gandia you find the city of Oliva (20 minutes) with an old town centre. If you are looking for less busy beaches you will find these here. Oliva is where the Spanish go on holiday and is even less touristy and the beaches are never very busy. Terranova beach in Oliva is one of our favourites, long with soft white sand and not crowded at all.

Other towns close by:

This town has a good beach front but is a bit more 'touristy'. If you want to eat Fish& Chips you will find it here.

DENIA (30 minutes):

This is a very pretty town with lovely shops and cafes on tree lined streets.

VALENCIA (50 minutes):

Short drive away. Suggest you visit the town centre. There are many shops museums and churches. Aquarium the Bioparc - a sort of zoo meets safari park but really well laid out and not a cage in sight.

- Vergel Safari Park,

- Mundomar Sea World,

- Terra Mittica Theme Park or

- Aqualandia Water Park

These are all around 45- 60 min by car.

Three golf courses that are around 30 min drive away:

- La Sella: 27 holes and near Denia

- Club de golf Oliva Nova: 18 holes and near Gandia

- La Galiana Camp de gold: 18 holes and near Gandia.

Walking, hiking and climbing are three great activities in this area, beautiful mountain walks. A great place if you have pets and enjoy the countryside way of life.

Cycling is another big activity in Spain with plenty of cycle routes in and around the region. The area around the villa is popular with mountain bikers.

Water Sports there is a huge selection of beaches to choose from, Daimus, Grau de Gandia are the closest beaches, jet skiing, wind surfing, dinghy sailing from the marina, kite surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking basically anything you can think of is just 15 minutes' drive away.

Equestrian Centre around Gandia there are several places to go horse riding or show jumping.

Tennis is a popular sport and you will find have sports centres and social clubs around Marxuquera.
