Fantastic location, easy walk into York, lots of shops locally for the essentials.
A lovely stay at a lovely house. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 3 children and 2 small dogs. Nice little enclosed garden. Kitchen has everything you need to cook with and a lovely welcome pack. Great communication with owner. All round very happy with our stay
Lovely House, Delightful Garden
The house was spacious and uncluttered with room for everyone without falling over each other. Well equipped and comfortable. No need to bring a high chair or travel cot. I also liked the small, quiet, interesting garden. It was perfect to sit out in and watch the birds.
The house was well placed with an easy, straight forward walk into the city. On the occasions when we needed to use the bus at the end of a tiring day we found the service punctual and reliable. There was also a children's play park a short walk away.
The local shops were good for our immediate needs. The big supermarkets were a short drive away.
We enjoyed our stay very much and really liked York. Lots to do and see.
A fantastic place, perfect location, fabulous host!
This was by far our favourite spot that we stayed at. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers travelling with my mother to make 5. We were all extremely comfortable with loads of space for everyone. Lovely beds, gorgeous bath and shower, sweet and welcoming garden and a well equipped kitchen. The kids wanted to move in! Beds were comfortable, all details were attended to and when I foolishly walked out of the house with the wrong keys and locked us all out! - Roger and his father were so gracious and helpful in solving our dilemma. Such a great location to visit York from. A nice walk into town to explore York. Stay here if the dates are available - You will not be disappointed.
As for things to do - The Jorvik Viking centre was excellent. Make sure to ask questions and listen to the museum staff after the ride who were so engaging, well informed, and fun. The Chocolate factory was also worth the trip and a trip to Betty's tea and coffee house (We liked the little one not at the square) And finally a walk around the York walls. If you take a piece of paper and a pencil with you there are rubbings at various locations around the wall to compile a map of york from. The info centre in York also provides kits to do so.
Great place to stay
This Home worked great for our stay. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The only thing I didn’t love is the AGA made the house extremely warm but we learned to cook on it. The home is a bit cluttery. Overall great place and we would stay there again.
The Perfect famiy holiday
We booked to stay in this house for my Dads 60th birthday along with ny husbands and brothers birthdays. Overall there were 8 of us including 2 young children. We all had a wonderful time and it will certainly be a very memorable family getaway.
The house is perfect and very spacious and we found the kitchen to be the best room in the house with a large table for us all to sit round and doors opening up onto the garden. All the rooms are large and the beds are very comfy. The house literally had everything we needed including BBQ equipment, towels, bread.. the list could go on.
We loved the little touch of yorkshire goodies that was left for us.
Roger you have a wonderful home, thank you for letting us stay and we will most definitely be back.
Fantastic cosy property in easy walking distance from York Minster
We loved our stay at the property. Very comfortable and clean. Perfect for our group. We were a bit concerned about the aga but it kept the kitchen nice an cosy and was no problem at all! Fantastic, the Yorkshire treats went down well too!
