Single-storey cottage with stunning sea views, overlooking Cawsand Bay

Located in a unique position overlooking Cawsand beach, the cottage offers stunning sea views over Cawsand Bay and out to sea.

The villages of Kingsand and Cawsand with their maze of narrow streets, pretty pastel-coloured houses, excellent pubs and restaurants, grocery store, art gallery, post office and gift shops are right on your doorstep and the neighbouring village of Millbrook is just a mile away. There you will find a supermarket, greengrocers/health food shop, cash point, fish and chip shop and a garage.

The tiered garden has terraces on various levels from which you can enjoy the spectacular sea views and the large sun-deck overlooking the sea is a wonderful place to relax and watch the array of yachts, fishing boats and navy vessels passing by.

If you want to go further afield the city of Plymouth with its abundance of shops, restaurants, theatres etc. is easily reached via the passenger ferry which departs several times a day from Cawsand beach. Whether you are looking for a relaxing break or something more energetic, this forgotten corner of Cornwall is the perfect place to spend your holiday.

About Avril & Karel van de Velde

My grandfather built the cottage and always called it his little piece of heaven, which it certainly is. I have wonderful memories of all the holidays I spent in Cawsand as a child and years later I still find it a magical place. Several years ago my husband and I completely refurbished and extended the cottage and landscaped the gardens to create even more terraces from which to enjoy the wonderful views. As my husband is Dutch we spend most of the year in Holland but try to come to Cawsand as much as possible and always find it really difficult to leave again.

What makes this cottage unique

The location of our cottage is idyllic. It’s nestled in a country lane overlooking the sea and has spectacular views from the living room, dining area and master bedroom. The various terraces and large sun deck (60 square meters - 650 sq feet) are perfect for sunbathing,dining outdoors or just relaxing and enjoying the wonderful views. The cottage is located far enough away from the village to be really quiet and peaceful but close enough to the village to be able to walk to the pubs, restaurants and local shops. The beach, which is directly below the cottage, is a couple of minutes’ walk away and the South West Coast path runs behind the property making it the ideal location for walkers.

THE PROPERTY IS LOCATED ON A NARROW LANE - 2.20m NARROWING TO 1.78 FOR THE LAST 50 METERS. There is a turning space halfway up the lane. There is ample parking space at the house for 1 car and free parking for 1 car is provided in the car-park a short walk away. The cottage is cleaned weekly. Towels and linen are provided and are changed weekly. (Please bring your own beach towels)

E-mail the requested dates of your stay and we will confirm availability to you and send you a booking form.
The booking will be held as 'reserved' for a period of 48 hours and confirmed on receipt and clearance of a 25% non-refundable deposit and completed booking form.
The remainder of the balance is required 6 weeks prior to the start date of the holiday. For holidays booked within the 6 weeks prior to the start date, full payment will be required at the time of booking. Our full terms and conditions will be forwarded by email.
If you cancel your confirmed booking the full rental remains payable. However if we manage to re-let the property, for the full term of your booking, we will refund your final balance, minus a £30.00 administration charge. It is recommended that all holidaymakers take out holiday insurance cover.

CHANGEOVER DAY:
Changeover is on Saturday. The property is available from 3 pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.
