About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Located along the delightful village road of Boxgrove, which has traditional shop and pub, this charming character cottage, dating back to 1750, adjoins the owners’ home, and enjoys plenty of off road parking plus an enclosed garden and sitting out area. Having been extended, it has a large living room with sofa-bed, a separate dining room, kitchen, bathroom on the ground floor, and two bedrooms on the first floor with sloping ceilings. Rose Tree Cottage is only 10 minutes’ drive to historic Chichester with its stunning cathedral, harbour tours, golf course, leisure facilities and marina, as well as Goodwood and Fontwell races. The South Downs National Park is close by, and is ideal for scenic walks and cycling routes. Pagham Nature Reserve is the place to go for wildlife and interesting bird-watching. Visit Arundel with its castle and various antiques and memorabilia shops and boutiques, as well as Wild Fowl and Wetlands bird centre. The picturesque sailing village of Bosham with a historic church and crafts centre is also a short drive away, and slightly further are Portsmouth to the west with maritime history and famous war ships, Spinnaker Tower and extensive retail shopping outlets, or Brighton to the east, with its Royal Pavilion and cosmopolitan culture. Day trips to the Isle of Wight can be enjoyed from either Portsmouth or Southampton, and the wonderful rolling heathland of the New Forest with roaming ponies can also be easily reached by car. Polo at Midhurst, or visit National Trust homes and gardens including The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum at Singleton, West Dean, Petworth House and Goodwood House. Conveniently located, there is a bus stop outside the property for those who prefer to enjoy a car free holiday. Beach 6 miles. Shop 400 yards, pub 3/4 mile, restaurant 1/4 mile.
