There is electric heating throughout with an additional electric wood burner in the living room for those cosy nights in, while upstairs, the two bedrooms beckon after a day spent on the beach, indulging in water sports or touring this lovely island. Facilities on the doorstep include a shop, newsagent, pub, a lovely waterfront café and a fashionable restaurant, whose lawned area stretches right up to the sea wall. Gurnard is just a mile west of the popular sailing town of Cowes, well-known all over the world for hosting some of the best yachting events. The high street is pedestrianised and is packed with independent shops, boutiques, pubs, restaurants and galleries, as well as chandlers and purveyors of the most famous brands of sailing gear. From Bay Cottage it is easy to explore Queen Victoria’s Osborne House, the famous Chines, The Needles and many miles of superb walking and cycling trails.
