This apartment is part of a lovely historic building on Albert Quay, in the heart of this historic maritime town, with views from the lounge and kitchen of the river and the boats that are moored on the estuary. The town of Fowey on Cornwall’s sheltered south coast really has it all. Meander around the narrow lanes and alleyways and browse the many art galleries, excellent cafés, restaurants and quaint local gift shops. The town has some small beaches, not least the quaintly named Readymoney Cove, a picturesque sandy bay at the end of the town’s Victorian esplanade and the perfect spot for the perfect seaside holiday. Fowey is well known for its sailing heritage and boasts an annual royal regatta. Sailing, kayaking, river trips and sea fishing are all available from the town quay. There are many walks in the area, either up the river where you can reach the village of Lerryn, the inspiration for Kenneth Grahams ‘Wind in the Willows’ or along the coast to Polkerris and Menabilly, with its arc of golden sand and bistro in the old lifeboat house. The town was home to Daphne Du Maurier and the local area is featured in many of her books, a perfect guide to exploring the beautiful coastline, secluded coves and dramatic cliffs. A few miles from Fowey is the Eden Project and the Lost gardens of Heligan, along with the many other gardens, the perfect destinations for all. There are also 4 golf courses in the area along with horse riding, walking trails and quaint coastal villages which all add up to a perfect Cornish holiday. Shop, pub and restaurant 20 yards.
