This wonderful, detached wooden lodge is in a peaceful location close to the river at the foot of Glenloy, a beautiful wooded glen. The area is renowned for its breathtaking scenery and there is an abundance of wildlife including a visiting pine marten, eagles and deer. Only 7 miles from the centre of Fort William, it is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast. Outdoor activities available in the area include walking, climbing, skiing, canoeing, sea kayaking and mountain biking. Visit the Eilean Donan Castle, one of the most photographed castles in Scotland, which looks across the water to the Isle of Skye. Take the spectacular ‘Road to the Isles’ from Fort William to Mallaig, pausing along the way on beaches of clean, white sand before taking a boat trip to the Small Isles. Other attractions include the challenge of Ben Nevis, the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, a gondola ride above the slopes of Aonach Mor, and the Glenfinnan Monument and Viaduct. Shop 6 miles, pub and restaurant 4 miles.
This lodge is even more fabulous than it looks. We have just spent a wonderful week there and it was definitely sad leaving. The cabin is outstanding, very rustic, very clean and very homely. The wildlife left me in awe! Pine Martin's in the garden, deer in the forest and birds of every description. The place is so peaceful with the river running by. 10 minute drive into town, Fort William is worth a visit. White water rafting nearby and if you can, a trip to Eilean Donan Castle is a must.
Would definitely head back to this lodge at the drop of a hat.
Thank you to Helen the owner, the place is fantastic.
