Beautiful condo with one of the most amazing views of the ocean and other islands! The ocean breeze while sitting on the patio was serene. Close proximity to both the pool and ocean. Short car or taxi drive into Red Hook and the Ferry depot. Loved our visit and love Home Away! Will definitely go back. What you see is really what you get!
Clean comfy the view is breathtaking!!! Loved touch of Paradise!! I'll be back.
We had one of my all time favorite vacations in this unit on St. Thomas! This unit was right on the beach. Perfect location: 12 steps to the pool, 8 to the beach. We swam and snorkeled daily. We saw bright colored fish, small stingray and a few baby (nice) sharks. We loved that there were no crowds either. Felt very private during our April trip. Listening to the ocean was a WONDERUL way to start and end our days. The owner sure has thought of everything. The place is stocked!!! We felt spoiled. From sunscreen, to snorkel gear, portable beach chairs, cooler...candles...even a fresh aloe bush after we overdid it in the sun. WOW! Great restaurants near by (Our favorite was Nims since RIGHT on the water and delicious seafood) but you can always stop on the way in from airport and pick up items at the store for some homemade meals on the patio. Even a grill! AND fresh fish off the boats in the marina near by. I was VERY impressed in so many ways. We are definitely heading back to this Sapphire Beach unit someday. Loved the owner, on-site rep and groundskeepers. Very helpful, kind and friendly.
We were looking for a place right on the beach for our 20th Anniversary -- we were going to go in January 2017, but moved the trip up to May to travel with my husband's brother and sister-in-law. We found this condo which has a patio that is steps from the water, exactly what we wanted. When we arrived, it was everything that the pictures depict! Very nicely decorated and up-to-date, and the view was amazing (with waves lapping against the beach and views of St John and some of the other islands). The beach in front of the condo is a little rocky, but the pool is very close and the sandy beach with crystal blue water and snorkeling is only a few more steps past the pool. The condo had everything we needed for our stay. We cooked in a few nights using the grill that is provided. We had an issue with the safe, but upon contacting Victoria/Melanie about it, they had the manager come help us in a matter of no time. The location is conveniently near restaurants and stores. The craziest thing is the driving (thank goodness my brother-in-law has driven on the island in the past).
The only suggestion and it's more to the management of the resort, taking better care of the grounds could make this resort more than it already is, especially since Sapphire Beach has one of the prettiest beaches on St. Thomas.
My husband and I traveled to St. Thomas for vacation. We wanted a location where we could be on the beach, easily travel to other beaches, and be close to restaurants and touristy options. This location had it all. Sapphire Beach is beautiful and has great views across to St. John. There can be some sea debris but it is not bad. The beach is narrow during high tide, but it is very long and so it is easy to find a spot for the day. There is also a lot of snorkel opportunities. We were an easy 1-2 minute drive to Red Hook for all of the great bars, restaurants, and ferries. One could walk to Red Hook, but there are several large hills and curves and the road could be a bit dangerous for pedestrians. There are cabs easily available. The beach does have beach chairs available and a small cabana bar for food and beers. There are not many amenities on the property, but Red Hook has everything you need. There is a pool that has a great location and great views. The unit is a nice, ground level studio condo. The condo is clean with an updated kitchen and bath. The bed is comfortable and there is everything you would need from shampoo to snorkel gear. It was a perfect size for us. The condo has a great view and is on the quiet bend of the beach which is great because there are not a ton of passerbys. We enjoyed the patio for morning coffee and evening wine.
The only downside to the property is some of the resort's former amenities. They can be a bit of an eye sore but the view of the beach makes up for it. The tennis courts, former lobby, pool bar, and some ground areas are vacant and rundown. The resort has some great potential, but the common areas are not yet restored. Do not let that stop you, the proximity to Red Hook and the beachfront access are wonderful. We were so happy with the condo and the location, we extended our stay a day. We would stay again in the future.
The condo was larger than I expected, clean, & well-positioned on the beach, just an amazing view. Snorkelers , you're in for some amazing sights.
The only amenity that is missing would be a restaurant or two. At the time we were there the only restaurant had poor/slow/uninformed front line employees. The bartender was clueless. We went into Red Hook, a very short $8 taxi ride away. Very good food in several restaurants, some with an amazing view of the harbor & plenty of fun if you are looking for it.
This is one of the better condo's in the complex, very quiet with a nice pool very close by. It appears they're refurbishing the pool bar. It would have been convenient if it was available, but we saved a little money & made a few meals at the condo & stocked the fridge with beverages etc.
We'd go back for sure.
