Lovely festive holiday
Really lovely location on the river Dee, however very noisy in front bedrooms from very busy road. Our stay was a festive treat for my husband and I, and both sets of parents, we was very dissapointed that after booking the accomadation we found out that no trains would be running throughout December, so check time table before booking! Also the platform is all closed up, the tea room and working station was locked up for the duration, the evening is pitch black and if walking out after 5 take the touches' provided. It is a beautiful place and would recommend it for earlier time of year. Sorry if I sound negative but I booked it mainly for the free train rides for our dads. Lovely walk into llangollen, the aqueduct, horse shoe pass, horse shoe falls are just some of the other attractions we enjoyed. A little hiccup with cooker and down stairs shower on arrival but was sorted later in evening. We had two large hatchback cars which we fitted in quite comfortable. Overall a really nice week away just that we booked it to see trains and there was none. No mobile signal at all in house but wifi was very good allowing to contact ppl on social media. There is a pay telephone in kitchen which could be useful. It would be nice to have tv in bedrooms as not all have same taste in shows. Would definatley like to visit again when station and tea room are open and trains are running.
