In an idyllic setting on the edge of Dartmoor National Park in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this single-storey cottage has its own, south-facing garden and is surrounded by 20 acres of meadowland and oak woods, unchanged for 300 years. Attached to the owners’ home, it is very comfortably furnished and boasts stunning countryside views. Just 200 yards away is the River Yealm where fishing is available by arrangement with the owner. Sparkwell Wildlife Park 2 miles. Historic Plymouth with water sports and aquarium 7 miles. Coast 15 miles. Shop and pub 3 miles.
Cottage is cosy and well maintained. The position for this cottage is perfect. As well as the use of the cottage with all facilities visitors are given free rein to use the garden which is beautiful. The rooms are spacious as is the bathroom. The owner is on the spot in the house next door but was not intrusive. A lovely cream tea was provided on arrival. We would not hesitate to recommend this place. The only downside is the very narrow country lane which leads to the cottage but this is obviously out of the owners control. A suggestion to the Council would be to regularly cut back the thorny bushes each side of the lane which would give at least another couple of feet passing room. The cottage is ideally situated for visiting local places. Within a short distance are Plymouth Hoe, Jennycliff and Saltram House National Trust.
