Also within a fiftteen minute walk is the picturesque harbour of Porlock Weir with its pubs and restaurants. Whilst staying at Underway, there is plenty to do. Enjoy the natural wonders of Exmoor and the dramatic coastline in this region. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path or inland on Exmoor, with highlights such as Dunkery Beacon and the village of Withypool. The pretty Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, which are famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (NT), Valley of the Rocks and the famous funicular cliff railway, are well worth a visit. Looking towards Minehead, visitors here can go back in time on the scenic West Somerset Steam Railway, or visit the enchanting, medieval Dunster Castle (NT), with its beautiful terraced gardens, deer park and watermill, all making for an interesting day out. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor, and fishing, golf, horse riding and cycling are all available.
