This charming, secluded Grade II listed detached cottage has exclusive use of an outdoor swimming pool and sauna and is set in 3½ acres of its own grounds. One acre has been set aside as a wildflower meadow.Kiers Cottage is a classic example of a late Tudor, timber-framed hall house, built around a central chimney. The holiday cottage, which has celebrated its four-hundredth birthday, is at the end of a two hundred metre drive and is completely surrounded by farmland.There is a spacious, well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen with an oil-fired Aga (for cooking), and open fires in inglenooks in both the kitchen and the living room.The Suffolk Heritage Coast is within easy reach, along with the market town of Beccles (3½ miles) and the seaside resorts of Lowestoft, Southwold, Walberswick and Aldeburgh. Birdwatchers will doubtless head for the RSPB sanctuary at Minsmere, while closer at hand is the lesser-known Benacre Broad at Covehithe.Then again, guests may simply prefer to enjoy the wildlife in the garden which includes regular visits by a barn owl, a green woodpecker, with plenty of pheasant, partridge, skylarks and occasional sightings of muntjac deer.
