Away from the coast, the rolling countryside is just as promising, where visitors can explore the rugged terrain of the nearby Preseli Hills, scattered with spectacular walks and iron age settlements, or visit the numerous market towns dotted around the county including Haverfordwest, Narberth and Pembroke. Less than a 30-minute drive to the north of the county is Britain&rsquo;s smallest city of St David&rsquo;s. The charming, historic resort is famous for its magnificent 12th-century cathedral and medieval ruins of Bishop&rsquo;s Palace.
