Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Tarporley - THE OLD STABLES

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Situated close to many fantastic attractions, this former stable enjoys a cosy woodburner, enclosed garden and beautiful surroundings.. Located close to the village of Bunbury, and set in 2½-acres of unspoilt countryside, The Old Stables provides spacious and comfortable accommodation in the heart of rural Cheshire. This former stable has been lovingly rebuilt using reclaimed Cheshire brick, and has been thoughtfully transformed into a contemporary holiday home, which provides all the home comforts, whilst at the same time retaining lots of charm and character, thanks to its vaulted ceilings with timber beams, feature oak truss and cosy woodburner. The Old Stables is located less than a mile from Bunbury, which has several pubs serving food, as well as a post office, shop, butchers, coffee shop, fish and chip shop and a church. The TV drama series ‘Home fires’ was filmed in Bunbury village and many of the outside locations are within a mile of The Old Stables. The nearby larger village of Tarporley, 3½ miles away, has numerous pubs and eateries along with a good variety of shops and a petrol station. A wider range of amenities can be found in the popular market town of Nantwich, 9 miles. Dating back to the Roman times, Nantwich has a wealth of historical buildings, which in Cheshire is second only to the city of Chester, 15 miles. Due to its rural location and proximity to the Sandstone Trail, with access to numerous public footpaths, it is ideal for those who love walking. There are several golf courses nearby as well as fisheries, horse riding, cycling and mountain biking. Other activities available locally include motor racing at Oulton Park, 6 miles, or horse racing at Chester, 15 miles, and Bangor-on-Dee, 22 miles. The property is close to the canal network where boat hire is available. There are plenty of local attractions that will appeal to families including Chester Zoo, 16 miles and Blue Planet Aquarium, 18 miles. Alternatively why not try the Go Ape treetop adventure, or a Segway experience at Delamere Forest, 12 miles, which also offers some great walks and cycle trails. Other places of interest are within easy driving distance such as Beeston Castle, 3 miles, Cholmondeley Castle Gardens, 7 miles, Tatton Park and Staffordshire Potteries 25 miles. By car, Liverpool and Manchester can both be reached in under an hour, North Wales in 40 minutes, and Anglesey in an hour. For those who want to leave their car behind, train stations at Nantwich and Crewe provide access to many destinations including Manchester, Shrewsbury and Chester. With so much to see and do this really is a great place to stay. Shop and pub ¾ mile, restaurants 2 miles.. All on ground floor: Living room with French doors and beams.
