Originally a working tannery, this beautifully converted, detached, Grade II listed property sits in the heart of the pretty village of Grampound which lies on the edge of the Roseland Peninsula (AONB). Here the property is home to typical Cornish coves, beaches, fishing villages and cliff-top walks, and where the local village offers a great country pub and a smokery with meats and fish available to buy. Grampound also offers a farmers market occasionally, and with the many local farm shops nearby, guests can treat themselves to plenty of local produce and treats, perfect for a picnic by the coast. The Tannery Loft, located on the edge of a new development of converted buildings and stylish new builds, provides upside-down accommodation and has many period features and charm which the owners have retained. This central area of Cornwall is the perfect base for touring both the north and south coasts, with Padstow, Mevagissey, St Mawes, Newquay and Truro, the county capital, all within easy reach. There are many excellent country pubs and eateries, golf clubs, horse riding, cycling and plenty of walking opportunities close by. The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan, along with many NT properties are easily accessible, as is the Tregothnan Estate where traditional Cornish tea is served, making it well worth a visit.
