This single-storey detached holiday cottage is located in the picturesque village of Bathampton, on the southern banks of the River Avon, positioned just two miles from the ancient city of Bath. The village dates back to the Iron Age, with the Kennet and Avon Canal passing through the village and offering pleasant walks along the towpath, and out into the surrounding countryside, west to Bath itself (30 minutes) and east towards Devizes. Above the village guests can walk onto the famous ’Bath Skyline’ route. There are several good eating places within walking distance, and it is an ideal base for those who enjoy visiting an historic city but prefer to stay in a peaceful rural village location. Bath has many museums and places of interest, including the Roman Baths, the abbey, Pulteney Bridge, the Royal Crescent, and also many quality shops and modern leisure facilities such as the new and acclaimed Thermae Spa. Popular attractions in the surrounding area include Stonehenge, Lacock village (NT), Castle Combe, Wells Cathedral, Cheddar Gorge and Bradford on Avon to name but a few. Hairdressers, doctors surgery and pharmacy available locally. Pub and restaurant 700 yards.
