With spectacular and uninterrupted views over the open sea and the Isle of Arran, this beautiful, spacious detached holiday cottage is nestled on the scenic A719 coastal route, in the picturesque village of Maidens. This cottage lies less than 50 yards from the long sandy beach and its expansive grassy foreshore; and is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the breathtaking scenery including views of Ailsa Craig and on a clear day, the Mull of Kintyre. Two of the double bedrooms and the living room have patio doors which open up onto a wide decking area with seating facilities, where guests can enjoy the sea views. Maidens is a lovely little coastal village situated around the shores of Maidenhead Bay on the charming Clyde Coast, which offers a range of amenities including a local shop, post office, restaurant, hotel, harbour and even a horse riding centre. This corner of south west Ayrshire is renowned for its unspoilt scenery and particularly mild climate throughout the year. The area is the perfect spot for the outdoor enthusiast and a stunning holiday location that has something for everyone. There are excellent golf courses, including the world-famous Turnberry, 1 mile, along with many other 18-hole golf courses nearby. There are the usual field sports, an excellent river for fishing and superb walking routes close by. At the heart of Burns Country, Maidens is just a short walk along the shore to Ayrshire’s most popular tourist attraction Culzean Castle, part of the National Trust for Scotland, with woods, walks and lakes; and is close to the vast Galloway Country Park for hill walkers and nature lovers. Day trips to Ireland can be taken from Stranraer, whilst a drive north leads to Ayr, 14 miles, a traditional seaside town. The Ayrshire county offers a varying coastline with villages, beaches and rocky coves to explore. Shops and pub, 5 miles, restaurant, 100 yards.
