This charming, Grade II listed, thatched holiday cottage, once part of the 17th century village pub, has been thoughtfully refurbished and is located in an attractive, quiet setting close to Thrandeston village green. It is equidistant between the market towns of Diss and Eye, which both have an interesting range of individual shops, restaurants and pubs. Diss also has a leisure centre and direct train links to London, as well as more listed buildings than any other Norfolk town. The area is good for bird watching, cycling, golf, fishing and walking – a central location for exploring Norfolk and Suffolk, midway between Bury St Edmunds, Norwich, Ipswich and the lovely Suffolk Heritage Coast. The cottage is well placed for visits to Bressingham Gardens and Steam Museum, Thetford Forest, South Lopham nature reserve and the internationally important Redgrave Fen. Shop/tea rooms 3 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
A lovely cottage which was perfect for our short stay. Our two dogs settled in quickly and the garden was quite secure for them. Everything was well provided including a welcome basket. A very friendly neighbour too. We would be very happy to return in the future.
