Approached by a short grassy pathway and set back from the village road, this charming and tastefully decorated, semi-detached holiday cottage has lovely views from the front and rear, and an enclosed rear gravelled sitting-out area. It offers a cosy base to return to after exploring this little-known, unspoilt region. Mickleton has two pubs and there is a selection of other inns and restaurants in the surrounding villages. The market town of Barnard Castle is 8 miles away which has a variety of shops as well as Bowes Museum, whilst the countryside offers very good walking and cycling for all abilities.
