Set on the edge of the quiet picturesque village of Horham, Avocet is a single storey barn conversion, the end wing of the owner’s barn. Guests have their own private lawned garden and use of the owner’s 22 acres of grounds. The village of Horham was the location of an American airbase in WWII and the officer’s mess and hospital still survive. Horham’s historic Church, St Mary’s, reputedly has the oldest peel of 8 bells in the world. The area has an abundance of footpaths and is ideal for walkers and cyclists. Centrally located there are many nearby places to visit including the market towns of Eye and Diss, the village of Stradbroke which has an indoor swimming pool, Framlingham and Orford with their 12th century castles, the Norfolk Broads and the Suffolk Heritage Coastline. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
